BEIJING, June 4 — Three Chinese astronauts working at the country’s space station have returned safely to Earth, state media reported Sunday, hailing the mission as a “complete success”.
The return capsule of the Shenzhou-15 spaceship touched down at a landing site in northern China’s Inner Mongolia region, according to state news agency Xinhua.
Astronauts Fei Junlong, Deng Qingming and Zhang Lu emerged from the capsule in “good physical condition”, Xinhua reported.
”The mission... was a complete success,” it said.
Footage showed medical officials in white jumpsuits and face masks swaddling the astronauts in blue blankets and carrying them away from the arid landing site, where the copper-coloured capsule lay flanked by red flags.
The trio had spent six months at the Tiangong space station, conducting spacewalks and a variety of scientific experiments.
China last week sent three more astronauts — including its first civilian in orbit — to the space station as part of the successor Shenzhou-16 mission.
The world’s second-largest economy has pumped billions of dollars into its military-run space programme in an effort to catch up with the United States and Russia.
Beijing aims to send a crewed mission to the Moon by 2030 and plans to build a base on the lunar surface. — AFP

Regarding the so-called "International" Space Station (ISS), the United States sent 158 people, Russia sent 55, 11 were Japanese, nine were Canadian, five were Italian, four were French, four were German, and there were one each from Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Israel, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates, BUT China astronauts are NOT permitted.

In 2011, Congress prohibited NASA from cooperating substantially with its Chinese counterpart without express prior authorization. This law, known as the Wolf Amendment, makes it very difficult for China to participate in the International Space Station (ISS) program, if the nation even wishes to do so.
Wah, such Wankee hatred for China. Well, China has done all on its own despite US restrictions.
These are the first "civilian" China cosmonauts, all their previous space voyagers being serving military officers. Even then , there are question marks about their true "civilian" status, as two of them are ex-servicemen.

The entire China Space Program is militarised, launched from military facilities, overseen by military officers, crewed by military officers, and all information regarding their space program a State Secret.
There was no way the US Congress was going to allow NASA to cooperate with the China space program given its militarised structure, as cooperation inevitably exposes information and technology transfer.

What is space by their reckoning? A mere 150km vertical distance measured from the sea level. Collectively they have spent billions on this enterprise. Did they really land astronauts on the moon, or did China actually sent a space probe to the dark side of the moon and back a few years back.? Cui bono?
