WASHINGTON, June 20 — US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to two charges of wilfully failing to pay income taxes in a deal with the Justice Department, according to court documents today.
The federal charges against Hunter Biden arose from an investigation by David Weiss, the US attorney in the Democratic president’s home state of Delaware who was appointed by Republican former President Donald Trump.
According to the deal, Biden also entered the pretrial diversion agreement on one firearm offence.
Hunter Biden, 53, for years has been the focus of unrelenting attacks by Trump and his Republican allies who have accused him of wrongdoing relating to Ukraine and China, among other matters. Hunter Biden has worked as a lobbyist, lawyer, investment banker and artist, and has publicly detailed his struggles with substance abuse.
Hunter Biden disclosed in December 2020 that Weiss’s office was investigating his tax affairs. He denied wrongdoing.
Hunter Biden described in a 2021 memoir dealing with substance abuse issues in his life including crack cocaine use and alcoholism. He was discharged from the US Navy reserve in 2014 after testing positive for cocaine, sources said at the time.
The Weiss inquiry initially examined potential violations of tax and money laundering laws in foreign business dealings, principally in China, sources told Reuters. The investigation headed by Weiss began as early as 2018, according to US media reports.
A senior Republican congressman, James Comer, in 2022 accused the US Treasury Department of withholding financial “suspicious activity reports” to shield Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
The president has two surviving children, Hunter Biden and daughter Ashley Biden. His son Beau Biden died in 2015 of cancer and his daughter Naomi Biden died as an infant after a car accident that also killed Joe Biden’s first wife.
Hunter Biden appears to be the first child of a sitting president to be indicted, according to Aaron Crawford, who specialises in presidential history at the University of Tennessee.
Crawford said the family of several presidents were ensnared in scandals, including George H.W. Bush’s son Neil, who directed a failed savings and loan, and Richard Nixon’s brother Don, who was rescued from business failures by wealthy businessman Howard Hughes. — Reuters

Pickup of intriguing reaction in twitter. My question is based on screenshot of article found in the twitter page link.
"...A top secret U.S. Navy..." ~ why the alleged article id a supposedly top secret US Navy facility? Wasn't it supposed to stay secret, which they can if they want it out in the article? Or, something is being subliminally being let out into the public consciousness about what is behind the scene? Or a message from one party to another?
Cui bono from the article? Who authorized the release of the article? Who suffered negative consequences? Who, ultimately owned wsj? Again, what's next?
"Your move..."

Logitech took a stock hit and was flooded with negative and sarcastic reviews on its Amazon page after it was revealed the Swiss computer manufacturer was behind the video game controller used to navigate the ill-fated Titan submersible.
According to OceanGate, the 21-foot sub was made with a handful of off-the-shelf components, including scaffolding poles for the sub’s ballast and a video game controller in place of a steering wheel.

The story feels so surreal, a kind of parody and rather comical to it. Remember the case of the Evergreen container ship thatgot stuck in the Suez Canal? This also having the same vibe to it. How do we really know the five guys really in there? There is the example as portrayed in the movie Wag the Dog... just as the black hats corrupt everything through their dark operation to push for certain narrative or outcome, so can the white hat deploying similar technique against them. How to know a black op or white operation? One clue was, in Sept 11, 2001, the smoke is black. Whereas when Notre Dame Cathedral was burning, is was white smoke or some of those telltale signs...one added signature to black ops is blood sacrifice of loss of lives or imposition of control on the populace.
Or...were those US Navy underwater facilities ever a secret knowledge in the first place?
