Voting suspended in Baram, Sarawak

5pm - The Election Commission (EC) announced it has suspended voting at 11 polling districts in Baram, Sarawak.

This is because bad weather prevented EC officers from arriving to the polling stations either by air, sea, or land.

In a statement, EC chief Abdul Ghani Salleh said a new date for voting will be announced later.

With voting in Baram suspended, only results for 220 Parliament seats will be announced in the next 24 hours.

The threshold for a simple majority in Parliament today will also theoretically drop to 110.

Previously, polling in Padang Serai was postponed after the death of the Pakatan Harapan candidate.
