“Reappoint Loke as transport minister,” railway union tells Anwar
THE Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) workers union has called upon Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to reappoint Anthony Loke Siew Fook as the transport minister.
According to union president Abdul Razak Md Hassan, the DAP secretary-general can improve the country’s public transport system due to his good track record of helming the ministry when Pakatan Harapan was in power from May 2018 to March 2020.
“We believe with Loke back at the helm of the ministry, the public transport system will benefit and be made more efficient,” he was reported as saying by FMT.
“Compare this to what is happening now (when) people are complaining about the entire transport network, including KTMB and services managed by other operators.”
Abdul Razak further said Anwar should consider the group’s request for the benefit of the entire public transport network, especially for KTMB – which is currently facing constraints in delivering the “best service” to its passengers.
He further pointed out that the KTMB workers’ union is also confident that Loke will pay attention to the welfare of workers and KTMB as a whole. – Nov 25, 2022
