BN's Padang Serai candidate slams opponent for 'insult' against royals

BN’s Padang Serai election candidate, Sivaraj Chandran, views his Perikatan Nasional (PN) opponent’s description of the government as an administration of “adultery” as an insult to the royal institution.

Sivaraj said the statement from PN’s Azman Nasruddin not only reflected his arrogance but also insults the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

“Aren’t we all aware that the intention and planning to form a unity government with Pakatan Harapan with BN is to heed the advice and orders of the Agong?

“Even though BN has already given a clear indication from the very beginning that we admit defeat in the 15th general election (GE15) and wanted to remain as the opposition, until we were called before the Agong and told to form a unity government with Harapan,” he said.

He also regretted the use of the term “zina” by Azman, which is seen as ignorant.

Sivaraj also in a statement last night called PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin stubborn for refusing to comply with the king’s directive to form a unity government.

“Rejecting the proposal and decree of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong itself is an act of insult to the institution of the king and now they shamelessly use the word ‘zina’,” he said.

Sivaraj added that he is confident that Padang Serai voters are wise and respect the royal institution.

“Azman, please understand the country’s situation when we cannot form a government even after several days of GE15. BN had to join hands with Harapan due to the orders of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and as a result of PN’s arrogance and its implication from His Majesty’s orders,” he added.

Therefore, Sivaraj warned Azman to avoid playing dirty politics by sowing hatred among the people or towards BN, and himself by extension.

He added that Azman should follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad and reject ignorance and arrogance.
