PETALING JAYA: Former Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching has slammed MCA president Wee Ka Siong and Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi for attending a meet-the-people event with voters in Senai despite a flood there yesterday.
“Taman Aman, Senai, was hit by floods yesterday. Coincidentally, the Johor MB (Onn Hafiz) was also in Senai but he did not visit the flood victims,” said Teo in a Facebook post.
“Instead, he attended a dinner event with the Chinese NGO and community in Hotel Impiana, Senai.
“MCA president Wee Ka Siong, Kulai BN chief, Kulai MIC chief and the BN candidate for Kulai also attended the event.”
Teo, who is running for re-election, also urged Wee and Onn Hafiz to disclose who paid for the event at the hotel.
While stating that it was not wrong for BN leaders to campaign for their candidates, the DAP leader said that it was not acceptable if public funds were used to pay for the 30-table dinner event.
