Stay humble, Rafizi tells PH leaders who win in the polls

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli reminded Pakatan Harapan leaders to remain humble should they win in the 15th general election and be appointed as ministers.

Rafizi said that PH should learn from their rivals’ past.

“If you win again, don’t forget where you stand. We have seen how other leaders in Umno, Bersatu and PAS, when they were in power, became big-headed and the people despised them,” he said during his final ceramah here tonight.

He also said that after the Johor polls, the coalition was not confident of winning GE15, but support has since returned to PH.

“After the Johor polls, when we looked at the results, we felt it was impossible for us to have the slightest chance of winning GE15 because the knock-out blow in Johor was too great for us,” he said before the closing of the election campaign in Ampang Jaya last night. In the Johor polls earlier this year, PH won only 12 seats.

Rafizi however said that PH has since regained the confidence of voters, after it focussed on the plight of the people. “That is why Umno, PAS, and Bersatu are stunned. They did not expect people to return to PH’s fold.

“Hence, it’s a reminder to those in PH, if they win and become ministers, remember your responsibility and people’s trust in you,” he said, adding that the election result tomorrow will “teach” traitors.

Not Ikmal who sued, says Rafizi

Separately, Rafizi, who’s contesting Pandan, mocked former deputy defence minister Ikmal Hisham over the letter of demand sent to him.

“It’s not Ikmal who sued me, but his wife. Are you not embarrassed? It’s your wife who sued me.

“Do you think you will be safe in court? We will subpoena Ikmal and drag him to court as a witness,” he said.

Rafizi had previously alleged that the company which was awarded the contract to procure the ‘Self-Propelled Howitzer’ artillery was linked to Ikmal’s family.

Ikmal has since denied the claims and said that Rafizi’s allegations were defamatory.
