BN leaders arrive at Umno HQ for meeting

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional leaders have started arriving for a meeting at Menara Dato Onn at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur here after having discussions with Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders earlier today on forming the next government.
Among the leaders seen entering the building were Sabah BN chairman Bung Moktar Radin, Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, as well as Umno Supreme Council members Puad Zarkashi and Johari Ghani.
It is understood that the meeting is being held to discuss today’s offer by PN leaders to form the government.
Yesterday, Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob said BN had decided not to form the government with PN or Pakatan Harapan (PH) and would remain in the opposition.
This followed talks between BN and PH leaders on forming the government.
Earlier today, Zahid revealed the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, had decreed that BN must be part of a unity government after meeting the coalition’s leaders at Istana Negara.
