Actor apologises for 'slaughter kafir harbi' remark

Actor Zul Huzaimy has apologised for stating that he harboured a wish to "slaughter kafir harbi" during his speech on Nov 4.

The apology was contained in a video clip which he posted on his Instagram account earlier this morning.

Zul (above) claimed that the contentious portion of his speech was taken out of context when viewed in isolation and shared online.

He said that speech saw him explaining the difference between kafir dhimmi and kafir harbi, while stressing that the former deserved Muslim protection because they accepted Muslim rule.

"As for khafir harbi, they refer to those who are clearly the enemies of Islam, non-Muslims who hate Islam, are racist and cause problems such as not allowing the azan to be heard in some places at a loud volume," he said.

Disrespectful

As an example, Zul claimed that he received a video clip yesterday depicting a group of non-Muslims playing the drums outside a mosque during Ishak prayer time and thus was disrespectful.

"We need to understand that this is what I meant by this minority group of non-Muslims," he said.

On Nov 4, Zul spoke at the Karnival Penghayatan Islam event in Chukai, Terengganu where he made the inflammatory remark.

He said that he would have "slaughtered" the kafir harbi if not for the laws in the country.

Zul then asked the audience if they too would do the same and some agreed.

A truncated version of his speech was widely shared on the internet recently.

The event was officiated by Chukai assemblyperson Hanafiah Mat. Joining Zul on stage was Dungun PAS Youth division chief Mohd Fadhli Rahmi Zulkifli.

The event was believed to have been organised by a state-linked company.

In Perak last night, two Perikatan Nasional leaders - Perak PN chief Ahmad Faizal Azumu and his Kedah counterpart Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor - have dismissed suggestions that Zul was speaking on behalf of their coalition.

  1. Yup...please believe me - the statement was taken out of context.

    This is called "no balls"

But non-muslims MUST take heed that it was a speech of a prime example of the racist bigot. This is a man who thinks islam is supreme. You will be protected if you are subservient to muslim rule. Of course you have to pay jizyah for example and as he specifically mentioned, you agree for the azan to be blasted in all its glory to wake even the dead.

    Otherwise.....chop off heads????
