Actor Afdlin lodges police report over alleged PKR election discrepancies
KUALA LUMPUR — June 7, 2022: Actor Datuk Afdlin Shauki has lodged a police report against the PKR election committee over alleged discrepancies in the party’s Setiawangsa division.
Afdlin claimed to the media after lodging the report that some ballot papers were missing during counting.
He argued that the number of physical votes totalled 750 but only 528 were recorded by the committee.
Afdlin also alleged that the committee had appointed the former Setiawangsa secretary as the polling station coordinator, while a husband of one candidate was allowed to work at the polling station.
“These appointments are seen as biased as both have a direct relationship with candidates,” he said.
Setiawangsa Parliamentarian and incumbent division chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad successfully defended his post against Afdlin.

PKR election committee chief Dr Zaliha Mustafa has stated that a decision will be made within a week from May 31 on whether a forensic audit on the results is required before they were officially announced during the party’s congress on June 25 and June 26.
