Tajuddin dropped as he was critical of party, says Zahid
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told reporters to ask Tajuddin Abdul Rahman for more details on the critical statements he had made against the party.
KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was dropped from its Supreme Council because of his critical attitude towards the party.
However, the former deputy prime minister did not elaborate further.
“You have to ask him what statements he had made, whether in ceramahs or closed-door meetings. Ask him yourself,” Zahid told reporters when asked to comment on Tajuddin’s removal.
Yesterday, a letter dated June 21 on Tajuddin’s removal had made its rounds on social media, with Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan thanking the controversial MP for services rendered.
