The DAP leadership today said it would call for Dr Mahathir Mohamad to return to the top post at Pakatan Harapan’s Presidential Council emergency meeting tonight.
This comes after Mahathir submitted his resignation letter to the Agong.
“I had seen Tun (Mahathir) this morning in his residence and was surprised when he informed me of his intention to resign,” DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng told the media today at the end of a meeting at his party’s headquarters here.
He said Mahathir disagreed with plans to work with Umno “when we worked so hard to reject Umno successfully in the 2018 general election”.
“DAP commends Tun’s principled position of refusing to work with an Umno whose leaders are involved in corrupt practices and misrule causing Malaysia to be labelled as a global kleptocracy at its worst,” said Lim.
He said Mahathir’s decision to resign was based on principles.

Lim GE has been bullshitting humongously in alluding to Mahathir resigning on principles because he (Atuk) refused to work with UMNO.
Guan Eng should explain why Mahathir needs to work or cooperates with UMNO or why there should there be a need for the Old Man to form a new government with UMNO? Indeed, why would there be such a ridiculous BS-ing need for Mahathir to join UMNO in a new Barisan Nasional if he didn't want to?

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 — DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang today questioned if the 42 Barisan Nasional (BN) and 18 PAS MPs will now openly declare their support for Pakatan Harapan’s 14th general election (GE14) manifesto.
Lim said in introducing the PH’s GE14 manifesto, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said that the book contains promises to the people of Malaysia that it will rebuild the nation and fulfill the hopes of the people.

Firstly, to reiterate, Mahathir did NOT resign from his PRIBUMI BERSATU party. He ONLY resign as Chairman, which means he is still attached to his Malays-ONLY party.
He is now stronger as 'interim' a PRIBUMI PM with no non-PRIBUMI cabinet members nor anyone to bug him in his decision making, wakakaka.
The thing we need to watch our for is that an interim (caretaker) PM canNOT issue new policies, programs, budgets etc. He can only administer the day-to-day administrative needs of the government ... UNTIL a new PM and cabinet are established.
So watch out in particular for any public (govt) financing of Car No 3 or new NEP, or Azmin becoming new Finance Minister and Mukhriz as Home Minister, etc, wakakaka.

ReplyDeleteAnd if he shows up the Harapan people can explain to the Old Fart that an Interim PM is like a Caretaker PM after dissolution of Parliament. He/she only has functional powers for day-to-day stuff. He cannot form new Unity Governments that flies in the face of the Rakyat's Choice in GE14. An interim PM cannot simply write off the results of a GE because he fancies a new idea. Harapan should also invite the AG to attend and explain to this Old Fart.
