Mahathir's STS Project pisses off TMJ

Malaysiakini -Whoever claims Johor aware of STS project is lying, prince returns fire (extracts)

no love lost between them

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad described the ship-to-ship (STS) hub project in Johor as public knowledge but Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim appeared to suggest otherwise.

“Whoever says Johor is aware is lying,” he said in a Facebook posting this evening.

Maddy just had a 'virtual' royal slap in the face. TMJ has accused him of fibbing, wakakaka.

Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim revealed that he had no knowledge regarding the project nor did his father, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

The prince also uploaded an audio recording of Johor Menteri Besar Osman Sapian telling reporters yesterday that he was in the dark as well.

“Putrajaya has acted unconstitutionally twice,” said Tunku Ismail.

“Firstly with regard to the STS project in Johor waters. Tuanku Sultan Johor and I are not aware of the project. The menteri besar is also not aware based on the attached voice recording

MB Osman Sapian is a Pribumi member so it looks like TMJ has caught Mahathir's fib with the old man's pants down, wakakaka - I am loving it.

“The state government including the Land and Mines office is also unaware...” he added.

Tunku Ismail said anything within three nautical miles of the shores of the state, in particular, land and water matters is the sole prerogative of the state.

“Is Putrajaya trying to usurp the powers of the state?” he asked.

At a press conference in Putrajaya earlier, Mahathir claimed that talks regarding the project had been ongoing for a long time.

He was also surprised when a reporter told him that Tunku Ismail did not know about the project. Up to that point, the prince had not indicated as such.

“He (Tunku Ismail) is in Johor. Many Johoreans know about this, he doesn't (so) I am surprised. He knows about a lot of things, but this, he doesn’t know,” said the prime minister.

Quizzed on the menteri besar being in the dark, Mahathir said he has since informed Osman of the matter.

Before or after TMJ raised Cain? Wakakaka. What a lame BS-ter. The fact that TMJ raised the issue of the MB not knowing is sufficient proof that Maddy has been fibbing.

“I think this is public knowledge. If people don't know, I don't have to go around telling people one by one, do you know this, do you know this, do you know this. See, I don't do that," he added.

Wakakaka. Maddy sounded so pathetic and childish.

Mahathir was speaking after witnessing an agreement being signed between KA Petra Sdn Bhd and Hong Kong's Hutchinson Port Holdings Ltd at the Le Meridien Hotel. Both firms are involved in the STS project.

Datuk Shahrul Amirul is the founder and managing director of KA Petra Sdn Bhd.

The premier was asked to comment on a posting by Gerakan Muafakat Johor, which was reproduced on Tunku Ismail's Facebook page.

The posting, among others, claimed the project, which was hatched in a secretive manner, benefited the cronies of certain leaders.

Dismissing the cronyism allegation, Mahathir argued that all Malaysians were his cronies.

I wish it was so but most Malaysians, except young brats who didn't live as an adult through Mahathir's regime in 1981 to 2003, would know the sickening association of 'cronys' and 'Mahathir'.

But what is the ship-to-ship (STS) hub project?

From Sing Straits Times (extracts):

It's the US$180 million (S$244 million) project off Johor’s Port of Tanjung Pelepas to enable ships to transfer their cargo to other vessels without having to dock at the piers, in a move that officials say will allow higher shipping flexibility and cut costs for shippers.

The 1,200-ha facility, an area more than three times the size of Sentosa island, will be built in the Strait of Johor facing Tuas.

The project, in the Johor Baru port waters, is billed as the “world’s biggest” ship-to-ship (STS) transfer facility. It will be able to accommodate up to 30 vessels at one time.

Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad witnessed the project’s signing ceremony in April 2 in Putrajaya, involving Malaysian maritime services company KA Petra and Hong Kong-based port operator Hutchison Ports.

KA Petra on its website says ship-to-ship transfer involves “cargo transfer operations between 2 seagoing vessels, either while stationary or underway.”

The new hub will have man-made “dolphin” mooring structures to berth vessels without the need for piers or docks, and at lower costs for shippers.

Hutchison Ports, which will take a 30 per cent stake in the project, is among the biggest port operators in the world and owns a stake in Port Klang[...]

“This project has been discussed over a long time. There were problems we had when Singapore said we are encroaching. We are not encroaching. We are in our waters and I think this is public knowledge,” he told a news conference after the signing ceremony.

“Singapore knows about this, they had contested (and) we had showed them that this is in Malaysian waters, not in Singapore waters.”

Trust Mahathir to fCk Sing maritime interests, wakakaka, but that's what the Old Man lives for.

dislikes Chinese especially Sings, wakakaka

But I believe in TMJ that the STS project has been done in stealth and the MB Johor and Royal family were deliberately by-passed, perhaps for fear of them leaking news (and pogress) of the project to Sing.

Aiyoyo Mahathir - what a Machiavellian Old Man.

  1. Toonsie is a walking disaster with the royal households, Kelantan (title revoked), Selangor (titles returned), and now Johor....

    However,

TMJ should cool it. Johoreans were upset when they lost sovereignty over Pedra Branca, accusing Putrajaya of betrayal by giving up Malaysia's claim at the International Court. Now Putrajaya is building Johor a much bigger and revenue generating island on the west.....for free.

Also, Middle finger to SGP...in-your-Tuas-face. Like setting up a pasar malam stall selling cheap DVDs outside HMV store.

  2. Don't get too excited about TMJ just because he gave Mahathir a finger salute.

TMJ also Bullshitted about Malaysia acceding to the Treaty of Rome being a threat to the rights of the Malays and the Malay Sultans.

What a bunch of crap from TMJ...the Treaty of Rome is the UN treaty governing the International Criminal Court , aimed at bringing to justice those who commit genocide and Crimes Against Humanity.

  3. I have serious concerns about the whole business of STS Ship to Ship Cargo transfer, with regards to environmental protection and international law.

Because these cargo do not physically land in any jurisdiction , in this case, Malaysia , they become ideal means to secretly ship dangerous material as well as illegal contraband, and sanctions evasion.

Though in theory , the shippers and receivers still need to provide documentation to the authorities, in practice it is a mere rubber stamp operation. You can virtually declare the cargo as "Anything you like" and get away with it. A shipment of narcotics declared as toys.
dangerous waste material declared as harmless chemicals, illegally exported weapons declared televisions.

Those countries which implement these are essentially setting up the Shipping/Trading equivalent of an offshore financial centre. A hub of illegal activity.

Malaysia is just starting to wake up from the 10 years nightmare of a bandit Najib administration, it must not create its own illegal goods transit hub.

  4. It's only a RM 1 billion project and so much controversy compared to other projects in Johor which costs billions upon billions.

TDM forgot to pay Toll or Tit for Tat for other Johor projects which TDM cancelled, postponed or kacau.

  5. Wakakakaka…

Like usual, just cari pasal of ANY forms to tembak mamak!

"But I believe in TMJ that the STS project has been done in stealth and the MB Johor and Royal family were deliberately by-passed, perhaps for fear of them leaking news (and pogress) of the project to Sing."

No need moles of any calibre, Singgie already knows about the proposed STS hub. Hence, she raised hell about the self-imposed 'change' in the m'sia-s'pore SW maritime boundary!

The STS hub has a undeniable impact on the Tuas shipping facility that RedDot is planning.

That maritime dispute was a hot issue even when that supposedly blur mb went on a 'fart' finding cruise around the troubled water! He knows & yet he doesntd want to crash with the blue blood. Looks likely that the cabinet reshuffling IS going to happen sooner than mamak can denies any longer.

Besides, someone SHOULD dig deeper, before foaming in the mouth shouting about the secrecy of the STS. WHO'S the other operator of the STS in SJohore & how its fortune would be affected from a monopoly to a duopoly!

Reading deeper, the out burst of the tmj & the trengganu photos comical farts (does the blue blood has jurisdiction over state administration sans Islamic issues?).

    Another royal-mamak battle is simmering!

Bloody good show, this time round!

  7. I think the JRF is out to "Cari Pasal" with Mahathir as payback for the fallout over the Gomez case nearly 30 years ago.

Add to that the clash of many Pakatan policies on environment, land and development, with the JRF's Very Extensive private business interests , ensures that there will be plenty of opportunities for conflict.

So... be careful applauding anyone for attacks Mahathir, just because you hate him. The attackers may not have the country's best interests in mind , or doing it purely for personal gain.
