PAS rejects Umno's call for snap polls in T'ganu

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has rejected Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan’s suggestion that Terengganu hold a state election to test PAS’ sincerity on Malay political cooperation.
“As long as there is no urgent need, the people should not be burdened with the political pressure and costs of facing a state election,” he said in a statement.
Tuan Ibrahim (above) said polls should not be used as testing grounds or to measure the sincerity of political cooperation.
Instead, he said it would be better to dissolve Parliament and seek a fresh national mandate, while noting that Perikatan Nasional had instructed its election machinery to prepare for any eventuality.
