Zahid takes veiled dig at Anwar over RON95 quota ‘U-turn’
Umno president claims the quota was restored to 300 litres 'out of fear'.

Zahid, who is also deputy prime minister, said the government reduced the monthly quota for subsidised RON95 petrol earlier this year, only to increase it much later.
“First it was reduced, and when elections were around the corner, it was increased out of fear.
“Who was responsible for this? Guru. Enough is enough. Listen to the people, dear guru,” he said in his opening speech at the Umno general assembly here.
The government reduced the monthly RON95 quota under the BUDI95 programme from 300 litres to 200 litres in April as a temporary measure amid higher global crude prices and supply chain disruptions linked to the West Asia conflict.
It was restored to to 300 litres effective Sept 1.
Anwar also announced that the monthly quota for subsidised diesel under the BUDI Diesel programme would be increased from 300 litres to 400 litres.
