SEREMBAN, June 3 — Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir today granted an audience to Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun at Istana Hinggap here.

The meeting, which began at 9 am, lasted almost two hours.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Aminuddin said the audience was part of his regular weekly schedule ahead of chairing the State Executive Council meeting.

“It is the usual Wednesday meeting,” he said briefly.

Yesterday, several leaders of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the state were reported to have held a meeting at the Menteri Besar’s official residence.

Negeri Sembilan DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin said the meeting was held to discuss the coalition’s preparations for the next state election. — Bernama

  1. Part of the routine of constitutional monarchy - the Ruler has a right to be briefed on government matters, to be consulted and to give his input.
But VERY IMPORTANT- the Constitutional Ruler, except for a narrow specific range of matters, must only act "on the advice" of the Elected Government.

Many Malaysian Rulers are forgetting that, or deliberately pushing the limits of constitutionality.

  2. King Charles is probably the best educated British Monarch in centuries and has served as an RAF Officer, flew jets, and was a Navy ship commander.

He's well known for his insistence on his right to be briefed on UK Government policy, to be consulted and give his input - all in private with the PM , of course. You would never see a British Monarch publicly interfering with government business.
