We are handing $370 billion to a nation that has spent decades fighting wars around the world to protect us from our largest trading partner
China is Australia’s largest trading partner with trade that exceeds $309 billion a year and accounts for almost a quarter of our total trade.
Yet Australians are being told to fear the very nation that buys more of what Australia sells than any other country on earth.
And to deal with that fear? A $370 billion bill. Second hand American submarines and decades of dependence.
We are borrowing money from future generations to prepare for a conflict with our largest trading partner.
If China is such an immediate threat, why are the submarines arriving decades from now
If the threat is so urgent, why does the sales pitch arrive before the product
We were promised sovereignty instead we got a $370 billion invoice.
Who benefits? Who pays?
And why does every conversation begin with fear and end with taxpayers reaching for their wallets?
