Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has brokered peace between two feuding senior party leaders in Selangor and advised them to leave their past behind.
During the launching of the Kota Raja Umno division meeting in Klang this afternoon, Zahid called the division chief Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz and Selangor Umno chairperson Megat Zulkarnain Omardin to come on stage and make amends.
Zafrul then shook hands with Megat (above, right) before they embraced each other to mark the reconciliation.
"Take good care of your relationship with Megat. Put aside all that has happened.
"It is normal to be 'kecil hati' (disheartened) in politics," Zahid said.
Zafrul and Megat have been at odds for some time, and this reportedly led the former to resign as Selangor Umno treasurer in April.

In announcing his resignation, Zafrul reportedly posted a critical comment against Selangor Umno for allegedly being slow and not in sync with the party's central theme.
Engage grassroots, Zafrul told
In Zahid's speech at the event, he called on the Kota Raja Umno division grassroots to continue supporting Zafrul, who is also the investment, trade and industry minister.
