FT mufti’s office to
summon ‘Raja Bomoh’
over ritual at sinkhole site
Religious affairs minister Na’im Mokhtar says Ibrahim Mat Zin is still being monitored by the mufti’s office because of his previous rituals.
Religious affairs minister Na’im Mokhtar said Ibrahim’s actions have caused public distress and misunderstanding about Islam among the community.
Na’im told FMT.I have requested the federal territories mufti’s office to summon Ibrahim soon,
He said Ibrahim is being monitored by the federal territories mufti’s office under Section 129 of the Syariah Criminal Procedure Act (Federal Territories) 1997 because of his previous ritual practices.
According to media reports, Ibrahim visited the sinkhole site yesterday and sprinkled
that he claimed was sourced from the bottom of a waterfall in Perak.special water
His actions have been widely criticised, with many saying the rituals contradict Islamic teachings and have embarrassed Malaysia and its people.
Ibrahim was most notably remembered for his ritual involving coconuts at KLIA in 2014 shortly after the disappearance of MH370, which was ridiculed.
In 2017, the Islamic development department (Jakim) said his activities went against Islamic principles and were haram.
That same year, he was also charged under Section 7(a) of the Syariah Criminal Offenses Act (Federal Territories) 1997 with insulting Islam.
Told ya, the Bomoh is more widely trusted than GPR radar or any of those gadgets.
