Rayer, however, did not provide more details as he did not want to compromise any probe by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
He said an audit was conducted as he had heard complaints, since taking over the board last year, regarding its administration, management and finances.
he said at a press conference. The forensic audit report has been completed and we will be handing it over to the MACC for further investigation,
We hope that the MACC will pursue this matter and take necessary action.
Rayer, who is also the Jelutong MP, said the current PHEB board members were not going on a witch-hunt, adding that past commissioners had said they were willing to provide their cooperation in any investigation.
In 2022, Rayer’s predecessor P Ramasamy said he was prepared to be investigated over claims he had committed abuse of power and criminal breach of trust.
He said this in response to reports lodged by PHEB executive director M Ramachandran.
Ramasamy had said that the national audit department had reviewed PHEB’s documents following the allegations.
When contacted today, Ramasamy said the
detected by the independent auditor were not related to the reports lodged against PHEB in 2022.red flags
I am in the dark about the internal audit and red flags.
