Prove DAP leaders related to Chin Peng and Kuan Yew, PAS MP told

Lim Guan Eng says the claim by Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Mohamad reeks of racism and is malicious.

Lim Guan Eng wants Siti Mastura Mohamad to prove her claim by Thursday.

PETALING JAYA: DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng has told a PAS MP to provide proof that he and other party leaders are related to former communist leader Chin Peng and former Singapore prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.

Lim said PAS’s Kepala Batas MP, Siti Mastura Mohamad, had made the allegation against him and his father, Kit Siang, as well as Loke Siew Fook, Nga Kor Ming, Teresa Kok and Ngeh Khoo Ham at a Kemaman PAS machinery gathering in Terengganu on Saturday.

In a video Lim showed to the press at Parliament today, Mastura also claimed that the DAP leaders she mentioned shared blood ties.

“This is a personal attack on me, my family and the key leaders in DAP. It reeks of racism and is a malicious accusation,” he said in denying Mastura’s claims.

He gave Mastura until Thursday to provide evidence or he will take action against her.

“If you look at her tone, it seems like an attempt to undermine us as leaders personally and to mix in racial elements.

“This should not happen in a country where we are not only a diverse society, but where we have to fight for everyone regardless of race and background,” he said.

This is not the first time that such allegations have arisen. In 2017, Kit Siang had to issue a denial after a chart purportedly illustrating his alleged familial ties to Chin Peng and Kuan Yew made its rounds.
