Assassin from KB wants to gun down not just PMX & cabinet members but DAP members too

Man held over RM5m bounty to 'gun down' PM

Police have arrested a man for offering a RM5 million bounty to assassinate Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The suspect, who was arrested in Kota Bahru, Kelantan, has been remanded for three days until Nov 30.

According to Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain, the case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Multimedia and Communications Act.

Section 507 is related to offences of “criminal intimidation by anonymous communication, or by having taken precautions to conceal the name or abode of the person from whom the threat comes.”

Razaruddin said the suspect is believed to be the owner of the TikTok account on which the bounty was offered to anyone who could “gun down” the prime minister or his cabinet ministers.

“The case is still under investigation and the public is advised not to make speculations which can affect the investigation process,” he added in a statement this morning.

Insulting rulers

Meanwhile, police have also arrested another individual in Kota Bharu over an alleged offensive Facebook posting related to the rulers.

The suspect, who was detained on Nov 26 and remanded for four days until Nov 30, is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act.

On Sunday, Malaysiakini reported that the Putrajaya PKR division had lodged a police report over the threat against Anwar.

According to screenshots of the threat that had gone viral on social media, it was made by a TikTok user with the username @jaiadani89, who uses a profile photo of a man holding a sharp weapon.

“Today, I want to transfer RM5 million to whoever wants the money... But you have to do something in return.

“You have to gun down PMX, cabinet ministers, and DAP members,” the post read.
