PETALING JAYA: A PAS leader has apologised for warning voters that they would “go to hell” if they voted for Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Harapan (PH) instead of Perikatan Nasional in the upcoming general election.
A recording of Sik PAS Youth chief Shahiful Nasir’s speech at a ceramah last night had gone viral online.
In a video posted on Sik PAS Youth’s Facebook page, Shahiful apologised over his remark, acknowledging that his statement had offended many.
“(Whether we go to) heaven or hell is not determined by whether we support BN or PH. I apologise to all for my mistake.
“I ask people to stop spreading the video (recording of his speech) for the sake of harmony, and that contests in this general election would be free from racial or religious issues,” he said.
Shahiful had drawn flak over his remark, with netizens ridiculing the PAS leader, who is also an ustaz.
