KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — Fifteen stations along the Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line have shut down temporarily due to an unspecified technical issue.

Operator RapidKL has scrambled feeder buses at the affected stations to mitigate the disruption for the thousands of commuters left stranded.

According to RapidKL on Twitter, the stations closed were between KLCC in the city centre and Kelana Jaya.

“Please get help from the auxiliary police and station officers,” RapidKL urged commuters on Twitter.

RapidKL has not announced the cause of the disruption or said when the services were expected to resume.

At 3.53pm, the operator announced on Twitter train services between KLCC and Kelana Jaya LRT stations were halted, and advised passengers to seek alternative modes of transportation pending information on free feeder buses.

Before that, it tweeted at 3.32pm that the LRT line was facing technical issues between KLCC and Kelana Jaya LRT stations and that trains will be taking longer stops at stations.

“Follow our social media for further developments,” Ask Rapid KL added.

Yesterday, Rapid Rail said that the LRT service disruptions were caused by problems with the automatic driving system, according to a report by Bernama.

Train services between temporarily Ampang Jaya and Kelana Jaya were stopped temporarily from 10.15pm to ensure the safety of passengers, Rapid Rail reportedly said in a statement.
