Muhyiddin: I'm proud to be called ‘Father of MCO’
Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin said he felt proud to be called “Father of MCO” because the implementation of the movement control order (MCO) during his time as prime minister had saved many lives from Covid-19.
"(Opposition leader) Anwar Ibrahim said I'm the ‘Father of MCO’ but he didn't realise that if during that time I didn't implement the MCO, many more lives would have been lost due to Covid-19.
"In Malaysia, 99 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered and went home safely, while the US recorded 1.6 million deaths.
"Anwar went to the same university as I did, which is Universiti Malaya, but he said 36,000 deaths in Malaysia is the biggest figure in the world, even bigger than 1.6 million," Muhyiddin said at a political ceramah at Batu Pahat.
He added that Malaysia's vaccine rollout plan was much faster than other countries in the region, and his government offered aid to make sure there was food on the table for the people when economic sectors were temporarily shut down.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin (above) also trained his guns at the DAP, his old ally, claiming that the latter had demanded the abolishment of the Sedition Act.

“It was as though they wanted to abolish the royal institution, as well as the special privileges for the Malays.
“This was because the royal institution, national language, Islam and Malay special privileges are among those safeguarded under the Sedition Act,” Muhyiddin alleged.
Talking to 200 attendees, mostly supporters of Perikatan Nasional, Muhyiddin said that DAP was among the reason why he brought Bersatu out of Pakatan Harapan in the Sheraton Move.
More attacks on DAP
Muhyiddin added that he rather be called a “traitor” than become a traitor to the Malays and Islam.
Besides, Muhyiddin claimed that BN may eventually work with Harapan, after the 15th general election.
According to Muhyiddin, BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had admitted that if the coalition could not form the government by themselves after the GE15, they will cooperate with other political parties.
“Since Umno had rejected the proposal from PAS to work with Bersatu and PN before, the option left for BN is only Harapan.
"And DAP is not a party that fights for the fate of the Malays and Islam," stressed the PN’s Pagoh candidate.
During their campaigns, both PN and BN escalated their attacks on the DAP.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang claimed that DAP’s Malay candidates were being used by the party just to win Malay-Muslim votes.
He also claimed that Harapan was filled with “pro-communists, anti-God, and pro-LGBT groups”.
Caretaker prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob told voters that “a vote to Harapan equals to a vote for DAP”.

The "I am a Malay first" Mahiaddin is sounding more and more like the PAS lebais.
ReplyDeleteWhat is missing is the turban or whatever those lebais wrap round their heads.
Anyway, Mahiaddin should know his PN days are numbered.
Father of "buta gaji" is more apt
ReplyDeleteProud of any tong sampang titles. Otherwise there will be hardly any mentionable 'credits' in his epitaph!
