Hadi says PN confident of winning 27 ‘critical’ seats
PN deputy chairman Abdul Hadi Awang says the candidates for the 27 seats are all ‘winnable’.
PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional is confident of winning 27 “critical” seats that were previously won by Pakatan Harapan in 2018 because of a split in votes between PAS and Barisan Nasional.
PN deputy chairman Abdul Hadi Awang said the coalition’s confidence stemmed from the choice of candidates, all of whom were “winnable” candidates.
“We placed winnable candidates. We want PN to win,” he said in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Utusan Malaysia reported.
Hadi, who is president of PAS, said his party initially held discussions with Umno to avoid clashes in the 27 seats but in the end, they decided to field candidates in all the seats.
The 27 seats are Kangar (Perlis); Jerlun, Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Kuala Kedah, Merbok, Sungai Petani, Kulim Bandar Baharu (Kedah); Parit Buntar, Tambun, Lumut (Perak); Raub, Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Temerloh (Pahang); Sungai Besar, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Kapar, Kuala Langat (Selangor); Titiwangsa (Kuala Lumpur); Kuala Pilah, Tampin, (Negeri Sembilan); Sri Gading, Tanjung Piai (Johor) Tangga Batu (Melaka) and Putatan (Sabah).
