GE15: Barisan Nasional unveils its candidates to contest 166 seats

KUALA LUMPUR: Ahead of Nomination day this Saturday (Nov 1), Barisan Nasional has unveiled its candidates and the coalition is set to contest 166 seats.

The announcement also confirmed that Khairy Jamaluddin would be contesting in Sungai Buloh and Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz in Kuala Selangor.


The Barisan event, which began at 8.30pm on Tuesday (Nov 11), also confirmed that Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi would be defending the Bagan Datuk seat and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in Bera.

Ahmad Zahid, who was speaking at the event, also confirmed that several long serving MPs were purged.

Among them, Tan Sri Annuar Musa (Ketereh), and Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin (Padang Besar).

Meanwhile, veteran Umno leader Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, who’s been a three-term MP for Pasir Salak and was recently suspended by the party, has also been dropped.
