PETALING JAYA: Parti Bangsa Malaysia’s Zuraida Kamaruddin says she is likely to win the Ampang seat again based on “feedback from the ground”.

“Everywhere I go, voters have come out in droves to express their appreciation for my work in the constituency since 2008. Many openly pledged their votes to me,” she said.

The former Ampang MP said the voters recognised her efforts to alleviate poverty, ease traffic congestion and resolve flooding problems.

She also claimed many said they would vote for her because of her efforts in the housing and local government as well as plantation industries and commodities ministries.

“Women voters are also supportive of my efforts to enhance female empowerment, including as president of the Council of Malaysian Women Political Leaders,” she said.

Still, she said, she will not rest on her laurels, and urged all fence sitters to support PBM’s candidates.

“This nation needs a national reset and PBM will be able to offer just that,” she said.

Zuraida is in a nine-cornered contest to defend her Ampang seat. She faces Rodziah Ismail ( Pakatan Harapan), Ivone Low (Barisan Nasional), Sasha Lyna Abdul Latif (Perikatan Nasional), Nurul Ashikin Mabahwi (Pejuang), Lai Wai Chong (Warisan) and independent candidates Tan Hua Meng, Shafiq Izwan Yunos and M Raveendran.
