PETALING JAYA: Mohamad Hasan has told voters not to worry about who will be the next prime minister, amid speculation that Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi could helm the top post if BN wins the polls.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the Barisan Nasional deputy chairman said it was ultimately up to the King to decide who would become prime minister, whichever coalition formed the government.
Mohamad, also known as Tok Mat, also accused PH of caring more about BN’s prime ministerial candidate than the people’s welfare.
He said that BN had numerous experienced leaders who were capable of ensuring the country would be well managed if the coalition were to win the general election.
“In this general election, many BN and Umno candidates have the expertise and experience in economy and international affairs,” said the former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar.
Various BN leaders have come forward to reiterate that Ismail Sabri Yaakob is the coalition’s chosen prime ministerial candidate for GE15.
However, that has not stopped opposition leaders, including former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, from asserting their claim that Zahid could become prime minister if BN won the elections.

This is nonsensical talk from Tok Mat.
ReplyDeleteThe Monarchy is supposed to be an apolitical institution, and the Prime Minister is selected from the appropriate leader who commands the majority in the house.
If a party cannot offer a proper candidate , or is cagey about who it intends to be the PM, then the party does not deserve votes.
Penang voters are especially unforgiving of such Bullshit.
