BN-Harapan on course to form govt in Pahang

Pahang BN and Pakatan Harapan are on course to form a state government, following a similar move in Perak.

Pahang's legislature was hung for the first time after Saturday's election with BN winning 16 state seats and Harapan winning eight. Twenty-one seats are needed to form the state government.

Perikatan Nasional won 17 state seats.

Sources from Pahang DAP - which has six seats - informed Malaysiakini that a decision had already been made and an official statement will be released soon.

Pahang has 42 state seats in total. One seat - Tioman - has not been filled after the election there was postponed following the death of PN's candidate Md Yunus Ramli.

Polling in Tioman will be held on Dec 7.

Meanwhile, DAP's Triang assemblyperson Leong Yu Man when contacted, said he had not been informed of any decision to join with BN to form the state government.

PKR's two state representatives in Pahang also said they are waiting for instructions.
