Sack incompetent ministers instead of setting up task forces - Batu MP
Batu MP P Prabakaran today called on Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to reshuffle the cabinet in an effort to stabilise the economy.
Prabakaran (above) questioned the capabilities of the current ministers who were only implementing task forces to deal with the rising cost of goods, adding that the positions should be made available for more qualified ministers.
“If all these ministers are only establishing task forces as a solution, only wanting to do research, what are the actual duties of these ministers and their deputies?
“It’s better for them to resign (from their positions) or for the prime minister to fire or reshuffle the cabinet to allow for more capable ministers and deputies to manage their respective ministries.
“…I request for the prime minister to reshuffle the cabinet as soon as possible to allow for a more stable economy,” he said at a youth protest today, which was greeted by cheers from the crowd.
The protest, organised by PKR Youth and supported by Persatuan Pengguna Islam Malaysia, was conducted outside of Sogo complex in Kuala Lumpur today.
They demanded the government to continue with the implementation of subsidies, to stop politicking, and to remain firm with international cartels raising the prices of goods.
Prabakaran further said that the current ministers were not “thinking out of the box”
“For example, chicken prices have increased because the prices of chicken feed have increased - prices of corn and soy (beans) have increased. Why did it increase? Because it is imported from America when we can plant them ourselves.
“Why are chickens only eating corn and soy (beans)? We have many local products that can be used for chicken feed, why aren’t we empowering those?” he added.
Prabakaran said that he would raise the issue in the upcoming Dewan Rakyat sitting.
