Khairuddin open to returning to PAS someday

Kuala Nerus MP Khairuddin Aman Razali says he still has a good relationship with PAS leaders.

PETALING JAYA: Kuala Nerus MP Khairuddin Aman Razali, who left PAS in March, is open to returning to the party someday.

“The future is uncertain, so let us leave it to God,” he told FMT when commenting on Terengganu PAS’ statement that it would welcome its former leaders, including Khairuddin, back into the fold.

The former PAS central committee member said he has not held any discussions with the party on the matter, though he still has a good relationship with its leaders.

He also said he has never condemned the party and only shared his views on party matters, including the Muafakat Nasional (MN) alliance between PAS and Umno.

Khairuddin is a supporter of the pact that does not include Umno’s rival, Bersatu. PAS and Bersatu are partners in Perikatan Nasional (PN).

The former plantation industries and commodities minister said he will continue to fight for MN and try to reunite Umno and PAS.

“Nothing is impossible in politics. Top leaders must listen to the wishes and desires of the grassroots.

“We have to continue to work together and I will also continue to cooperate with Umno and PAS, as long as they do not reject me,” he said.

Khairuddin also denied talk that he was planning to join Umno after he organised a Keluarga Malaysia event in his constituency. He said he was just doing his part as an MP.

He said that although he was no longer with PAS, he hoped the members would stay and continue its struggle.
