“Give him a mirror”: Dr M mocked for calling Pejuang to reject “kleptocrats and thieves”
WITH former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad seemingly getting better after an undisclosed procedure at the National Heart Institute (IJN), he had set ball rolling for his Parti Pejuang Tanah Air to contest at the upcoming Johor state election.
In a letter addressed to his party members, Mahathir reminded his party members that they should contest the polls so as to not allow the corrupt and embezzlers to attain power.
“A true leader seeks power not to enrich himself but to uphold one’s principles and struggles. It is a responsibility which must be carried out and a trust that must be upheld by all members.
“As for Pejuang, we will never work with kleptocrats and traitors,” Astro Awani reported the Langkawi MP as saying.
However, it took netizens little time to the see irony of his message, given Mahathir’s own financial scandals and treachery in the past.

Pejuang had announced that they will be contesting in the upcoming Johor state election, possibly contesting nearly 40 out of the 56 state seats up for grabs.
As of now, both Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (Perikatan) are at each other’s throats despite being allies at the federal level, while Pakatan Harapan is seeking to cooperate with the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA).
