UMNO 3.0 - the real agenda

FMT:

‘Umno 3.0’ waiting to take over from Zahid and Najib, says insider

PETALING JAYA: Speculation is rife that plans are being put in place to get Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his predecessor, Najib Razak, out of the picture by August and to woo others under a new party leadership called Umno 3.0.

“Umno 3.0 will have a new leader and will work with PPBM and PAS,” a source close to the talks said, adding that calls for Zahid to step down are expected to get louder in the coming days, especially from Umno ministers.

Umno was known as Umno 2.0 after a split in the party in 1987.

The source said there are some party leaders “stubbornly loyal” to Zahid but “once the two (Zahid and Najib) can be removed, a new Umno can emerge stronger”.

He said Umno 3.0 will back Muhyiddin Yassin as the prime minister after the next general election (GE15) and will go all-out to win rural “true-blue” support as the biggest Malay party in the country.

However, another Umno insider aligned to Zahid’s camp said those supporting Umno 3.0 may also try to get rid of party deputy president Mohamad Hasan as he may be the next in line if Zahid is no longer president.

“They will try to get rid of him, too,” he said.

“Their ultimate move is to take control of Umno and to support PPBM. Is that what Umno wants?” he asked.

Zahid is involved in a new controversy over a viral audio recording purportedly between him and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim. Both men have denied having any conversation after Umno’s annual general assembly last month, with Zahid describing the recording as a malicious political ploy to bring down Umno.

Both Zahid and Najib are facing uncertainty in their political future.

Zahid is facing 47 counts of corruption and money laundering involving millions linked to his charitable foundation, Yayasan Akalbudi. The hearing is ongoing.

Najib is appealing against his 12-year jail sentence and RM210 million fine in the SRC International corruption case. In addition, he is facing a number of other charges in cases linked to 1MDB.

Earlier this week, he was served with a bankruptcy notice by the Inland Revenue Board over RM1.7 billion taxes that the agency said are in arrears from 2011 to 2017.

kt notes:

UMNO 3.0 is likely a PPBM scheme to decapitate the current head of UMNO, to wit, Ahmad Zahid (with Najib behind him), hijack same (probably with Ass-binte's good matey Hisham) and move UMNO into PPBM's control or even PPBM itself (to wit, a merger or just plain absorption).

We can thank Ass-binte's Machiavellian evil-genius for it, with probably the added complicity of the UMNO Bodek-ish cluster, wakakaka, and one quite brilliant young gent who may have a different set of cards to play in conflict with Ass-binte's scheme.

Then there still is Mohamad Hasan (Tok Mat) to deal with - hmmm, a political knife in his back a la scandals and he could be easily finished, wakakaka.

Thus, Zahid (and Najib and perhaps even Tok Mat) will be kow-tim in a pincher movement by the Ass-binte led Bodek-ish cluster and one fine young gent, wakakaka again.

The pincher movements are not coordinated nor in alliance but have come about due to common interests, the decapitation of Zahid and Najib. One aims to enthrone Moo-Moo (and of course the power behind the throne, namely, Ass-binte HERself and who knows, even Prince Consort Hazq, wakakaka), whilst the other seeks power for himself through the amputation of gangrenous parts of UMNO 2.0.

  1. This is the difference between PAP (father of DAP) and UMNO, father of PAS and Bersatu.

UMNO 1, 2, 3....all der same....everyone want to be NAMBAR 1, even sampai umur 100 tahun. Semua mau rebut KUASA.

PAP (father of DAP) is the opposite. When come the time for DPM Heng to become PM, he withdraw....too old, bagi chan orang lebih muda....

Macam Father Lim bagi jalan, tolak peluang jadi menteri pun, sekarang Son akan bagi jalan for orang lain jadi Sec Gen DAP, no fighting, no rebut, Still 42.

DPM Heng Swee Keat steps aside as leader of PAP 4G team, PM Lee accepts decision

SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat will step aside as the leader of the fourth-generation People's Action Party (PAP) leadership team, he announced on Thursday (Apr 8).

"This year, I am 60," said Mr Heng, adding that he would be in his mid-60s when the COVID-19 crisis is over.

"When I also consider the ages at which our first three Prime Ministers have taken on the job, I would have too short a runway should I become the next Prime Minister then," he said at a press conference announcing his decision.

"We need a leader who will not only rebuild Singapore post-COVID-19, but also lead the next phase of our nation-building efforts."

Mr Heng said: "After careful deliberation and discussions with my family, I have decided to step aside as leader of the 4G (fourth-generation) team, so that a younger leader who will have a longer runway can take over."

With Mr Lee and other senior ministers, he will continue to mentor the younger ministers and identify another leader from among them, he added.
