US calls Israeli strike on Syria's Abu al-Duhur air base an 'unnecessary escalation'

In short: 

Israel conducted eight airstrikes against the Abu al-Duhur base in the north west of Syria, 70km from the Turkish border. 

Regional news sources reported the base's runway and storage fracilities were hit, citing the Syrian military. 

What's next? 

US Ambassador to Turkiye and special envoy for Syria and Iraq, Tom Barrack condemned the strike and said the two countries should "prioritise logical discourse over further military incidents".
