A WhatsApp group named “MB Selangor” comprising several government and opposition assemblypersons, as well as party leaders from Selangor, was created yesterday evening.
It contains a series of allegations against a PKR leader from northern Selangor, said to be close to Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
The claims of sudden wealth and appointments to state government–linked positions were believed to have been uploaded by the group’s administrator – known only as “Madani” – before they went viral.
Among others, “Madani” questioned how the leader could afford a RM3 million bungalow and sustain a luxurious lifestyle, including overseas holidays and stays at five- to seven-star hotels.
“Madani” also attached several photos of the leader vacationing abroad with family members.
Also raised were allegations that the leader holds too many positions in state-linked agencies.

“The question is, why is one person appointed to so many positions, as if there are no other qualified people in Selangor?” asked “Madani”.
The allegations were accompanied only by several screenshots of the leader’s WhatsApp account as “evidence”.
At least one Malaysiakini reporter was also added as a member of the WhatsApp group.
Calls for authorities to investigate
Meanwhile, when contacted, the leader in question declined to comment, claiming he had not seen the contents of the chat group.
“I can’t comment. It’s better that we allow the state administration to explain the details of the Selangor 2026 Budget to the public,” he said briefly.
Malaysiakini is withholding the leader’s identity as the allegations cannot be independently verified.
In the same series of messages, the group administrator further accused the leader of involvement in distributing Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd projects in Hulu Selangor, including that he allegedly took “15 percent” from certain contracts as political funding.
A list of more than 15 companies was also shared, which purportedly received projects through the leader’s network.
The group administrator also challenged the leader to lodge a police report so that the purported evidence could be revealed.
“MACC, please investigate. This is public money. We urge Perikatan Nasional assemblypersons to speak up in the state assembly. Ask the menteri besar for an explanation,” said “Madani”.
A lengthy message directed at Amirudin was also shared in the group, urging the menteri besar to explain “truthfully and fairly” the lifestyle and positions of the leader concerned.
Malaysiakini has contacted the menteri besar’s office for comment.
