KUALA LUMPUR: 

Umno will use Barisan Nasional’s iconic 

dacing

 (scales) logo in the next general election (GE16), says party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Zahid, who is also the BN chairman, said that he agreed with the leadership and grassroots members who voiced strong support for using the logo.

He also said that Umno 

does not reject

 the possibility of collaborating with the other parties in the unity government in GE16 to avoid conflict between parties and secure voter support.

This (process) must start now because we do not want to only build this harmony during the election. It must be built from now,

 he said at a press conference at the World Trade Centre.

Earlier, Zahid had given a briefing to delegates of the Umno general assembly and outlined five key directions for the party’s future.
