Isham Jalil: “Najib is a threat to Anwar and Zahid hence he will stay behind bars”
JAILED former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak is a threat to both Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy PM Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, which is why they are unlikely to take any action to secure his release from prison, according to former UMNO member Isham Jalil.
He said there were many ways to see Najib get his freedom. But now, one way is to change the government.
Isham made the speech in Kelantan during the campaign for the Nenggiri state seat by-election.
“There are many supporters of Najib here. I am saying it, there is one way now to free him. That is to have a change of government,” he said.
He added that he does not believe in both Anwar and Zahid now, calling them ‘liars’.
“I have no hope in the government of Anwar. Anwar harbours a grudge against Najib, partly due to his imprisonment for sodomy during Najib’s tenure. This history could explain Anwar’s animosity towards Najib.
As for Zahid, he said, the latter is worried that a freed Najib will be more popular than him in the party, UMNO. He also said Najib is more popular than Anwar. – Aug 17, 2024

My take - I may agree with Isham Jalil's opinion on Anwar but I disagree with his on Zahid. I have observe Zahid for a while, especially in his role as "Henchman" to both Anwar and Najib.
In Anwar's pre-sodomy-allegation days, Zahid was his Macai-warrior, a courageous stalking horse to expeditiously unseat Mahathir so that DSAI could become PM a.s.a.p - that both failed to defeat the wily old man, and that Zahid subsequently brown-nosed the old man to survive doesn't change my opinion that Zahid had been a good and loyal henchman to Anwar - and so he was too when Najib became PM6.
In other words there are some people in this world who are quite happy being just No 2, and Zahid is one of them. I reckon his personal ambition is quite limited. Thus for Isham Jalil to say Zahid will fear a released Najib becoming more popular than him is quite far fetched. In fact Zahid will be happy to accept Najib being more popular than him and for the released former PM6 to once again head UMNO, and even the UG, wakakaka.
Here is the brutal fact.
ReplyDeleteNajib is a threat to the Nation hence he must stay behind bars to serve out his lawfully imposed penalty.
Najib was instrumental in the conspiracy against Anwar for Sodomy 2.
ReplyDeleteSaiful the Shitful met with Najib BEFORE Police proceeded with any investigation of Anwar on the case.
So Najib was advisor and puppet master in the background to ensure Anwar got put away - for many years.
But Allah disposes, and it is Najib who got the most serious conviction, and had to be rescued by his Sultan buddy.
