GEORGE TOWN – Jelutong MP R.S.N. Rayer plans to sue Penang PAS commissioner Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff for defaming him with allegations that the DAP politician claimed he does not need Malay or Indian votes.
Rayer told a press conference today that Fauzi must apologise or face a defamation suit over remarks the latter made at a ceramah in Sg Pinang here recently, in which he accused Rayer of neglecting fire victims in his constituency.
"I know that they (PAS) made this allegation because the state election is around the corner.
“If the state PAS chief fails to apologise and retract his statement, I will sue him,” Rayer said today, adding that he had also lodged a police report against Fauzi.
Explaining the incident, Rayer said PAS members had claimed to be first on the scene to visit victims of a recent fire.
He said Sg Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim had arrived at the scene at 1.30am to visit the victims right after the fire was doused.
Later, he (Rayer) and several other leaders went to the same village at around 9am.
Rayer said this was before any PAS representatives had gone to the location.
Fauzi, when giving his ceramah, said PAS had shown up first and accused Rayer of saying he did not need Malay or Indian votes.
Rayer stressed that he had never uttered such “nonsensical” statements. – The Vibes, June 4, 2023

Has Allah swt permitted those lying lebais to fib like their children's lives depended on such blatant outrageous fabrications?
Rayer should just sue and state that when (nit if) he wins the suit, the damages he receives will go to the victims of the fire.
ReplyDeleteHe will stand tall on moral grounds.
