Shahidan, Rayer in heated war of words in Dewan Rakyat
The commotion breaks out after Shahidan Kassim interrupts a debate and claims that DAP supports corruption.

KUALA LUMPUR: A war of words erupted in the Dewan Rakyat between Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) and RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) after the former accused DAP of supporting corruption.
Enraged by the “wild accusation”, Rayer stood up and urged Shahidan to retract his statement.
“Arau is not following the rules (parliamentary standing orders) by making wild statements that DAP supports corruption. Why did Arau suddenly stand up to make such a statement?” asked Rayer.
“Hasn’t he already been advised not to make statements that violate the rules of the house? I ask Arau to withdraw (his statement).”
Shahidan had made the allegation while Nordin Ahmad Ismail (PN-Lumut) was debating the royal address.
Deputy speaker Ramli Nor ordered Shahidan to withdraw his statement – which he did.
“He (Jelutong) used to talk about 1MDB before, (but) now he is silent,” said Shahidan.
“Fine. I’ll retract saying that (DAP supports corruption), but I’ll say that DAP supports 1MDB.”
A furious Rayer urged Shahidan to withdraw the statement, too, insisting that DAP never supported 1MDB.
Sensing that the situation was getting out of hand, Ramli ordered Rayer and Shahidan to sit down and warned that he would kick both of them out of the Dewan Rakyat if they continued to cause a ruckus.
“I have made a decision. I have asked Arau to withdraw (his statement) and I have said that this kind of thing should not be happening,” said Ramli.
“I have told Arau to withdraw his statement, and he has done so. It’s over. What else do you want to fight about?” he said, while asking Nordin to continue his debate.
