Negeri Sembilan Bersatu offers Khairy MB post
Khairy Jamaluddin was reported to have received numerous offers from different parties but has since opted to become a radio DJ at HotFM, starting from Feb 15.
PETALING JAYA: Negeri Sembilan Bersatu is willing to offer the menteri besar’s post to former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin if he decides to contest in the state election under the party’s ticket.
The party’s state chief Eddin Syazlee Shith said the former health minister, who is popularly known as KJ, will add value to the party, Sinar Harian reported.
However, he admitted that the party leadership at the federal and state levels have yet to meet to discuss the offer.
“If KJ wants to join Bersatu and contest in Negeri Sembilan, we have no problem offering him the menteri besar post.
“It’s a small matter because what is important is to ensure that we win,” he was quoted as saying.
Eddin said that he’s waiting for further instruction from the party’s top leadership to keep in touch with Khairy, who is a native of the state and was a three-term Rembau MP.
Khairy was not picked to defend his Rembau constituency in the last general election (GE15) but instead given the Pakatan Harapan (PH) stronghold of Sungai Buloh, where he lost.
Khairy, who was sacked by Umno last month, had indicated that he may make a comeback at the Selangor state election to be held this year.
He was reported to have received numerous offers from different parties but has since opted to become a radio DJ at HotFM for the time being. He will begin his stint on Feb 15.
Khairy and former Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar were sacked by Umno last month for breaching party discipline during the last general election (GE15). A number of other Umno leaders, including former defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein and former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan, were suspended for six years.

Khairy is indeed at the crossroads. PN will try its darndest to get him to join them. The offer of the MB post is very enticing indeed.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am not convinced he will do so as I see him as a moderate politician who does not subscribe to the kind of extreme racist ideology of PN.
Khairy should be familiar with Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken".
I hope he chooses wisely.
