Lee Lam Thye to donate net proceeds from sale of biography

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3, 2022: Prominent social activist Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye has pledged to donate the net proceeds from the sale of his biography “Recalling a Lifetime of Service” to charity.
Lee said in a statement today that he hope that his contribution will encourage others to also pledge support for charities.
The chairman of Alliance of Safety Community (Ikatan) said he was humbled by the overwhelming interest in his memoir an explained that he had chosen to publish his biography recently because he will be an octogenarian in just several more years.
“My overriding message in my book is that there is a need for all Malaysians irrespective of race, colour or religion to work together and truly demonstrate how we can have unity in diversity,” he said.
Lee, who is a former DAP deputy secretary-general said his biography was also intended to clarify the real reason why he left politics.
