“Where are your principles?”: Boo takes pot shots at Syed Saddiq

JOHOR DAP’s outspoken leader Dr Boo Cheng Hau has taken a pot shot at Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and his party’s failure to draw youth support to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition during the Johor state election.

“In 2015 Syed Saddiq described DAP as an opportunistic party and criticised various PH component parties,” Boo commented.

“PH leaders especially [Johor DAP chief] Liew Chin Tong even piled high praises unto him [to the expanse of] victimising their own party members. Where do his principles actually lie?”

Boo went on to criticise MUDA’s lack of traction among the Malaysian youth during the Johor state election on March 12.

“Some even think that MUDA could draw the support of the youth towards PH but the Johor state election has indicated that the party hasn’t had much traction among the youth,” he remarked.

MUDA has won one out of the seven state seats it contested in the Johor polls with party secretary-general Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz winning in Puteri Wangsa with a majority of 7,114 votes in a six-cornered fight.

“Our own component parties have to be open-hearted and listen to their own loyal party dissidents and grassroots. This is the only way for PH to thrive – we have to know who our friends and enemies are before we can start fighting a battle.” – April 13, 2022
