KOTA BARU: Another controversy has emerged after a pharmacy here was fined for displaying a poster showing a female model who was not wearing a head scarf and covering her aurat.

According to one of its employees, who declined to be named, Municipal Council enforcement officers came to the pharmacy at Aeon Mall on Jul 26 and issued a summons to the management for displaying the poster.

"I was told the manager has to pay RM150 for the offence," said the employee, adding that the poster was only put up recently.

Last year we were informed by Sisters-in-Islam (SIS) that the Quran does not specifically mention hair as part of a woman’s 'aurat'.

The 'aurat' ruling had apparently come from a hadith narrated by Asma Abu Bakar.

SIS said: “However, this hadith has been greatly contested by Islamic scholars, such as Thariq Iwadullah and Sheikh Nasiruddin Al-Abani, on the grounds of its authenticity in the chain of message as the ‘rawi’ (transmitter of hadith) was renowned for being dishonest.”

“SIS is of the opinion that hair is not part of a woman’s ‘aurat’. In fact, the Quran has never mentioned hair as being specifically a woman’s ‘aurat’."

“When reading Surah an-Nur (24:31) on covering one’s modesty, it is important to understand the context of when the verse was introduced.”

SIS said that the verse which states that women should “draw their khimar (head covering) over their bosoms” was made in reference to the culture of 7th century Arabia, in which women traditionally already wore the khimar.

“The message of this verse is to advocate modesty by calling on women to cover their bosoms with the khimar, as bosoms traditionally did not constitute body parts which was (sic) already visible.

“If hair was also considered a woman’s private part, the Quran would have clearly specified it in 24:31 when women were instructed to cover their bosoms.”

And apart from the above, those supposedly yang alims in KB shouldn't be so uptight about women's hair as to sprout their syiok-sendiri interpretations.

The real stuff is what was advocated by Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti (1445-1505 AD), an Egyptian writer, religious scholar, juristic expert and teacher whose works deal with a wide variety of subjects in Islamic theology, and who informed Muslims about how he saw Paradise (Jannah):

Each time we sleep with a Houri we find her virgin. Besides, the penis of the Elected never softens. The erection is eternal; the sensation that you feel each time you make love is utterly delicious and out of this world and were you to experience it in this world you would faint. Each chosen one will marry seventy [sic] houris, besides the women he married on earth, and all will have appetizing vaginas.

Now those appetizing vaginas will need to have their 'aurat' covered up.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 ― Putrajaya does not intend to block access to Pokemon Go or restrict how Malaysians play the mobile gaming hit, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

Despite the various concerns expressed over the online phenomenon, he pointed out that Pokemon Go was simply a game and there was no need to overreact over its current popularity.

Nur Jazlan instead advised players to be mindful of existing rules while playing the augmented reality game.

“Pokemon Go is just fad and the craze will go off after a while, but gamers are advised not to break any laws and that includes driving while holding your phone or trespassing.

“Just be responsible and aware of your surroundings… don't injure yourself and others,” he told Malay Mail Online.

At last a sensible statement by a BN minister. In fact I don't give two figs whether official statements such as above comes from BN, Pakatan or PAS. So long as the statements/view are sensible I will always welcome them.

If some Malaysians are willing to sacrifice Malaysia’s future by working hand-in-glove with former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad to change the political landscape, then perhaps Malaysia is not yet ready for reform.

When someone does not have a bath for several days and starts to smell, the lazy person’s solution is to change clothes or spray perfume on himself, to mask the odour. For him, changing his attitude towards personal hygiene and cleanliness is bothersome and hard work. Sloppy practices, disinterest, poor parenting and a ‘tidak-apa’ attitude have contributed towards his mental degradation.

If we need Mahathir to rid us of Malaysia’s many evils, then we are either still politically immature, or completely helpless. Mahathir’s idea of righting the wrongs in Malaysia is to form another race-based, bumi-only party.

When Mahathir had problems with the original Umno party in 1987, he was forced to form Umno Baru. Why should we make another clone of Umno when we can’t even get rid of Umno Baru? How many Umno Baru rebranding exercises must we undergo?

Being force-fed Umno Baru policies has dulled our brains. We cannot think of new ideas, and find it easier to swap leaders or form new parties. Returning to the analogy of the smelly person, it is easier to change clothes or spray perfume than to take a bath.

Indoctrination has reinforced our serf mentality. We merely obey, and have no respect for our leaders. We accept our place in society, and many of us fail to question our leaders. Do we fear the consequences, or did it never cross our minds to quiz those with whom we entrust our future?

The Malaysians who align themselves with Mahathir have short memories. Who hijacked Islam to further his own aims? Are we unable to see the irony of Mahathir using ‘race’ to bait the Malays, and endear him to them? Who micro-managed the nation and used laws to curb dissent? Why do we have to keep reminding Malaysians that our once-independent institutions were corrupted during Mahathir’s era?

The fight for democratic reform and clean governance cannot be considered a weekend activity. [...]

We condemned former deputy PM Muhyiddin Yassin for leading a defunct Education Ministry. There was racial taunting in schools, not just among the pupils, but from the headmasters and teachers. Rural and East Malaysian schools were in disrepair, with schools being forced to function in unsafe buildings. Today, we hail Muhyiddin as the leader of Mahathir’s newly-formed race-based political party.

Because many Malaysians are so hard up for real leaders that rather than look for these real leaders (like taking a bath) they recycle useless, smelly and/or lousy ones (pakai perfume saje, wakakaka), those who had already let us down so badly that they stink. But it's OK lah as we just pakai perfume to overcome, ignore or forget about the stench of the past, wakakaka.

Chow Kon Yeow a realistic DAP leader

The most significant policy announcement by the DAP in recent times has been the pronouncement of Chow Kon Yeow, its Penang chairman and heir apparent to Guan Eng as CM Penang, that 3-corner election contests will be a regular feature in the future, and the DAP should get ready for it.

Kaytee wants to add that if PKR wishes to bury their head in the sand imported from Kelantan's Pantai Cinta Berahi (renamed as Pantai Cahaya Bulan by the PAS government, wakakaka), in a stupid hope its lover-boy won't interfere with its election contests in the future, that's up to that party.

But the DAP must expect 3-corner fights not only from PAS but also treacherous PKR, as had happened in Sarawak. Kaytee would urge the DAP in Penang to consider and far more importantly, to cater for this.

Chow also put a reality mark on the party's wishful dreamers like LKS, namely, that Pakatan is NOT going to be able to win Putrajaya in GE-14, not even if Mahathir somehow manages to oust Najib where UMNO Baru Baru will continue to reign.

Note my emphasis on "NOT going to be able to win Putrajaya" rather than "NOT going to win Putrajaya", where the difference is the messy trouble in Pakatan rather than in the DAP.

PKR by its politically sinful behaviour in the recent Sarawak state election has shown itself to be an untrustworthy and treacherous Pakatan ally, while PAS is a trouble-maker, seemingly for UMNO rather than an earnest political contestant by itself.

And Mahathir's party will, I suspect with Azmin Ali's cooperation, attempt to dominate and even usurp the relevant substance of Pakatan coalition (after making use of the various component party like the DAP) to form a new Malay Unity alliance, to wit, my suspicion of a post-Najib UMNO Baru Baru.

However, Chow advises rather wisely that Pakatan (or whatever is left of it) should campaign for GE-14 on the basis of its exemplary models of governmentship in Penang and Selangor, inviting the voters-people of Malaysia to examine which political parties/coalition have done the rightful things by them in terms of state administrations, performance and accountability.

Most certainly Chow has a steady down-to-earth head on his shoulders. He (and not the sluttish footsie-tootsie-ing of some) is what we need for the DAP in today's tumultuous unstable downwards-spiraling back-stabbing songsang-ish politics.

The new party that will extinguish its own self?

Well, go for it then, here's my back 

I can only draw two possible conclusions from that measly sum: (a) there are buckets of money behind the organizers hence the new party doesn't require financial support from its members, only their political and public-thus-moral backing, or (b) the party will have a very short span of existence before it reconstitutes or reverts into a former life-form, thereby extinguishing itself, wakakaka.

But wait, maybe there is a third possibility, it is blessed with both my two conclusions above, namely, that it has buckets and buckets of moolah and it will eventually, perhaps immediately after GE-14, extinguish itself after reverting into its previous life-form, wakakaka again.

In other words, the new party has a short-life mission and its current existence is only to gather support for its true aim, principally to launch a coup d'etat within an older party within a general election. and f**k those nons hanger-ons.

A coup d'etat within the older party?

Of course, as it's exclusive to only an ethnic group which coincidentally is the same with the party within which said coup d'etat will be launched.

Reformists must transcend 'race'.

It is time for Malaysians to reaffirm the non-discriminatory basis of the Federal Constitution and to uphold human rights principles which are strictly anti-racist.

Article 8 (1) of the Malaysian Constitution clearly spells out the principle of equality of all Malaysians while Article 12 (1) allows no discrimination against any citizens on the grounds of religion, race, descent or place of birth.

While it is widely recognised that racial polarisation exists in many Malaysian institutions such as schools, universities, the civil service, it must be stressed that this is not a “natural” consequence of a plural society.

On the contrary, through the years there have been deliberate attempts by those in power to create divisions among the people. There is general agreement that racial polarisation has its origins in colonial divide-and-rule strategy.

Obviously the new RM2-life-long-membership party is not non-discriminatory in accordance with the Federal Constitution.

Have you ever heard of a blogsite called 'Hartal msm'?

It was started by Brother Haris Ibrahim. The aim of the blog was to keep an eye on mainstream media, to ensure their reporting was free and fair, and to highlight any lies, falsification/distortion of news and propriety in news reporting.

It described itself: Hartal MSM is a mediawatch group which had its beginnings in December 2007 in the People’s Parliament, an initiative convened by civil rights lawyer Haris Ibrahim. The group seeks to promote a free and fair media as an impetus to Malaysia’s stalled nation-building process.

Brother Haris then left the running of the blog to a few of his colleagues.

It was a media watchdog as Bersih was once an election watchdog [note grammatical tense, wakakaka].

I even contributed one item of incorrect news reporting for Hartal msm to publish - it was an incorrect report that Dr Lim Chong EU turned froggy and leapt over to the United Democratic Party (UDP).

I believe the reporter wasn't malicious in saying so - 'twas probably a case of poor careless scholarship or ill informed recollection.

The fact was Dr Lim Chong Eu, then as party president of the MCA had a disagreement with Tunku in the early days of our nation when the political parties in Malaya (days before Malaysia) were only UMNO, MCA, MIC, PAS and the Socialist Front.

The Socialist Front was a merger of Lee Moke Sang-DS Ramanathan's Labour Party (Parti Buruh) and Ahmad Boestamam's Parti Rakyat Malaya.

Then Dr Lim wasn't happy with the seats allocation to the MCA by Tunku in the 1959 general elections. Many believed Tunku had actually manoeuvred a defiant and too highly independent-minded Dr Lim out of MCA so that a more compliant Tan Siew Sin would take over the party presidency.

Dr Lim did indeed resign from the MCA and left to form his own party, the UDP, which subsequently combined with the Labour Party and some notable individuals in 1968 to become the powerful successful 1969 Gerakan Party. I believe the UDP's battlecry of 'Satu Hati' has been adopted by the Gerakan Party.

The six founders of the party were Professor Syed Hussain Alatas, Dr. Tan Chee Khoon, Dr. J.B.A. Peter, Lim Chong Eu, Professor Wang Gungwu, and V. Veerapan.

Tun Razak was shit scared of the then very very powerful Gerakan Party which in 1969 was a truly multiracial party, headed by intellectuals and unionists.

In my blog here, I had then pointed out the reporter's terrible mistake in referring to Dr Lim as a political frog, and Hartal msm duly picked that up and published my correction on the news media's wrong reporting.

Then Hartal msm was doing a great job, as had Ambiga Sreenevasan with Bersih 2.0, who kept the NGO politically impartial and non-aligned, and highly reputable.

But just as Maria Chin has now taken Bersih down a songsang path, someone did that to Hartal msm, by turning it into an anti DAP and anti Lim Guan Eng because of personal grievances. It became very feral to anyone criticizing it for being songsang and for not keeping to its raison d'etre. Its ferocious and abusive defensiveness was as if it was populated by some ultra kiasu bloggers, wakakaka.

I then felt that, ironically, Hartal msm which claimed to be a media watchdog would itself require oversighting by another more credible media watchdog, wakakaka.

I wonder how its founder Brother Haris Ibrahim must have felt when he saw Hartal msm going songsang.

That spelt the eventual downfall of Hartal msm - no one believes it to be a media watchdog anymore.

Bersih under Maria Chin will follow that same downward spiral and discredit its impartial non-aligned election watchdog reputation.

FMT - ‘Maids get abused because laws are weak’

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians tend to abuse domestic maids because current labour laws do not give them enough protection, according to Klang MP Charles Santiago.

In an interview with FMT, Santiago spoke of a need for laws to ensure that maids are not made to work long hours, that they are given medical care and that they are given at least one day off every week.

“We treat them like slaves by making them work 24 hours a day instead of thinking of them as employees,” he said.

“Ensuring that labour laws cover the rights of housekeepers is something that we should really push the government to look into.”

He said another cause of abuse was the frustration of employers over their maids’ lack of training.

“Part of the problem is that the maids are ill-prepared,” he said. “You don’t expect a maid from Cambodia to know how to cook Malaysian food without training.”

Santiago noted that the issue of maid abuse had not been given much attention lately although there had been a rise in the number of cases, including deaths.

“Maids from Cambodia in particular have faced the brunt,” he said. “Lots of them have returned to their country in body bags.”

The Borneo Post reported yesterday that maid abuse was rampant in Sarawak and that some maids were treated like slaves.

The paper quoted a spokesperson for the Indonesian consulate in the state as saying that the consulate had to shelter 666 Indonesian workers between 2012 and 2015. He said there were probably more cases of abuse that were not reported.

It's not just the law, or lack of, that has been responsible for cruel treatment of foreign servants. It has been the humanity (or lack of) of Malaysians, their gross deficiency in decency, compassion and fairness towards servants and employees.

I don't know about Malays, Indians and Eurasians, but I know some Chinese should NOT be ever allowed to have foreign maids. I have blogged on this before.

Also, it's not just some Chinese Malaysians but some employers in the Gulf have an even uglier and far more notorious wickedness in their treatment of Filipino and Indian maids/servants, including sexual abuses. Additionally, the laws in those Gulf countries discriminate against foreigners especially if they are not Sunni Muslims. A few of these servants had been executed for flimsy excuses, without appropriate legal representation.

Some Malaysian statutory rapists escape scot free

AUGUST 4 — The recent judicial decision in East Malaysia seems to have escaped the attention of some media outlets. Another rapist married his child victim and was allowed to get away with the sexual abuse in court. The Borneo Post carried the distressing account of a 28 year old man who clearly took advantage of a 14-year-old child and was freed by court.

The report states the judge’s decision was “Since the complainant and the victim of the subject matter of this case wish to withdraw the complaint against the accused on the ground that she is now married to him, there is no necessity to proceed further with this case. “Therefore the accused is discharged not amounting to acquittal.”

It's amazing that, despite the outcry from many on previous such instances, our legal system continues to favour the rapist and not the victim. This decision by our legal system, in ruling in support of a rapist and sex abuser needs to be reviewed. Or systems must not continue to fail children.

Under the Penal Code this girl is under 16 years of age and it is obviously statutory rape; which means there is no defence. The judge would be required by law to rule in the favour of the victim and punish this rapist. If withdrawal of a police report makes this difficult the Child Act could be used.

Under the Child Act this person is under 18 and sexually abused. The Child Act is a mandatory reporting system, which means that withdrawing the police report is meaningless. The Welfare, Health and Police are mandated by law to take action. And the judge can rule in the favour of the victim against the perpetrator.

I wonder also who it is that allowed this marriage to take place and solemnised it? That authority also needs to be investigated by the Welfare Department for aiding and abetting sexual abuse.

I hope the Welfare Department will act immediately to rescue this child under the Child Act. She requires urgent and sustained emotional and psychological support and counselling. Her parents are also obviously not supporting her rights and needs.

Often the legal profession suggest that the rest of us are poor at understanding the law. But we know justice and injustice when we see it. We have witnessed a number of rulings that concern us. From adults who put fingers in the vagina of children being let off, to the continual abuse of children by marrying them to adults. The child in this situation will now have to live with her rapist.

The legal system must regain some sense of decorum and earn back the respect of the public.

We look to the legal system to protect children not harm them.

FMT in its report (extracts only) which follows seems to answer Dr Amar Singh:

“It is very common for rapists to marry their survivors, especially when they are underage, to cover up their crime,” Kuala Lumpur-based Women’s Aid Organisation spokeswoman Tan Heang Lee told Thomson Reuters Foundation.

“There is usually a high risk in this kind of cases that these girls will be subject to a lifetime of sexual abuse. Her marriage is basically an extension to rape,” she added.

Under Malaysia’s civil laws, the legal minimum age for marriage is 18 but Muslim girls who are under 16 can obtain permission to marry from Islamic courts.

Ethnic Malays, who are Muslim, make up about 60 per cent of the country’s 30 million population.

There are about 16,000 girls in Malaysia who were married before their 15th birthday, according to Human Rights Watch citing the latest available government statistics in 2010.

Alternatively the rapist should have a "bright future" as had been the case of Noor Afizal Azizan in 2012.

The rapist was given a '2nd chance' because he only had consensual sex with a 13-year old - yes, 'consensual sex' with a 13-year old in the words of the judge.

He was then a national bowler, a so-called sporting "wonder" who was said by the judge to have a 'bright future'.

Some Malaysians seem to have a generous spirit towards rapists and paedophiles, perhaps due to their hardup-ness for talents, as also in the case of convicted child pornography collector Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin who is now serving time in Britain. Majlis Amanah Raya (Mara) councillor commented [in his personal capacity] on : "I feel he has to be given a second chance for his future. Everyone makes mistakes."

They seem more interested in the 'future' of slugs like Noor Afizal Azizan and Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin rather than the rape victims, though another equally disgusting slug by the name of Chuah Guan Jui was  jailed for 5.5 years committing statutory rape on an underage lil' girl.

Initially, indeed it became a legal joke, Noor's '2nd chance' provided by our generous judges became a new astonishing stare decisis (legal precedent), where on the basis of Noor's '2nd chance' Chuah was also given a '2nd chance'.

But following public outcry over the moronic court ruling (stare decisis or not) and consequently an appeal by the prosecutor, Chuah had his '2nd chance' subsequently withdrawn and was sent to prison. The f* maggot deserves it.

However, unlike Chuah, Noor being a Chosen One with a 'bright future' continues to enjoy his '2nd chance'.

Needless to say, many of us were totally gob-smacked by the judge's explanation in Noor Afizal's case in which he (the judge) had dared, in a case of statutory rape, to offer the excuse that Noor Afizal did not use force and that it was consensual sex.

Were those new laws no one other than the judge was aware of?

I wonder whether Noor is still representing the states or even the nation with his bowling ball with which he managed to brilliantly strike down all the judges?

As for the double standard treatments of Noor and Chuah, it's okay - such things happen in Malaysia because what's good for the gooser is not necessarily so for the gander.

One puji-sayang the former as it may lay golden eggs (hence one's hardup-ness) while one sembelih the latter and gorengnya, wakakaka.

Maria Chin Abdullah destroying Bersih's credibility?

FMT - Bersih 2.0 to march on with fifth rally

PETALING JAYA: Bersih 5 is a go.

Electoral watchdog Bersih 2.0 today confirmed that the impending rally was to protest the government’s continuing “denial and inaction” over the 1MDB scandal.

This is especially after the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) had filed civil suits to recover billions in assets with funds allegedly misappropriated from the state-owned investment firm.

Reading from a prepared statement, Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah said they believe that “not protesting is not an option”.

The rally – the date and details of which will be announced in due course – is meant to pressure Putrajaya for greater accountability, she explained.

“As citizens, we must make a strong stand against this grand corruption and betrayal of trust.

“There is a serious dereliction of duty by the Prime Minister and the Cabinet members who are entrusted to protect the interest of the people.”

Under Maria Chin Abdullah the Bersih NGO has gone songsang from its avowed charter, the very purpose of its existence, that of keeping elections free, clean and fair.

Now it has even become an anti 1MDB movement (more correctly an anti Najib show), and just what has this got to do with free, clean and fair elections?

If you read above FMT article, Berish is described precisely as an electoral watchdog.

Yes, it has been Maria Chin who has, for reasons only known to her, radically changed Bersih's role after she took over from Ambiga Sreenevasan.

Should she be doing that? Can she do that?

Of course yes, Maria Chin Abdullah is free to do what she wants to do (within the law) but she should NOT have misused the Bersih label to carry her personal (political) baggage, which is what she has already done.

Bersih should be left untainted as a pristine politically non-aligned electoral watchdog, so as to enhance the weight and credibility of its words and findings on electoral fairness, cleanliness and accountability. But now that Maria Chin Abdullah has turned the NGO into an anti Najib or anti 1MDB organization, who in UMNO or BN will ever believe Bersih's opinions or/and advice on free, clean and fair elections in Malaysia?

In pre-Maria Chin days, once Anwar Ibrahim attempted to hijacked Bersih but Ambiga Sreenevasan told him off, reminding him that Bersih was about electoral fairness, cleanliness and accountability and not for Pakatan to misuse as a political platform.

But that didn't stop Anwar because in Bersih 3.0, unfortunately Anwar and his sidekick Azmin hijacked it, when one of PKR members deliberately breached police barricades leading to ferocious police reactions. Both sides (Police and Anwar-Azmin's tribe) were sadly bloody wrong.

Let's revisit that scene but by starting off with a review of what Bersih is/was supposed to be.

The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Malay: Gabungan Pilihanraya Bersih dan Adil) or Bersih (meaning clean in Malay) is a coalition of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which seeks to reform the current electoral system in Malaysia to ensure free, clean and fair elections. […]

In April 2010, the coalition was relaunched as an entirely civil society movement ("Bersih 2.0") unaffiliated to any political party.

Let's just read its charter again, namely, ... which seeks to reform the current electoral system in Malaysia to ensure free, clean and fair elections.

So?

Is it Bersih's charter to depose of an elected PM? Is it Bersih's charter to rally against the alleged crimes of 1MDB?

Hasn't Bersih today (under Maria Chin Abdullah) gone songsang-ishly partisan from its original charter?

I hope you understand what I mean by 'gone partisan' from a political perspective.

Now, it makes an electoral watchdog such as Bersih 2.0 encumbered with the baggage of political partisanship (burdened by Maria Chin Abdullah) which will make the NGO task of ensuring free, clean and fair elections far far far more difficult if not impossible, because the BN side of politics (I include PAS within this group) will not believe any of its so-called non-aligned words.

I first suspected Bersih had gone songsang from its original charter when Maria Chin Abdullah praised a former RMAF officer as a hero, and for what you may asked, but for violating Armed Forces Council Instructions.

That former RMAF officer was actually not charged by the military for making a police report on the very delible so-called indelible ink provided by our remarkable EC as many have incorrectly believed, but for doing unauthorized song & dance announcements in front of the media. No military personnel could do such a thing whether it involves the election or any other matter. That RMAF officer's wife (also a RMAF personnel) who similarly made a police report on the EC provided ink but did NOT speak to the media was not charged.

Maria Chin Abdullah lacked judgement in over-hastily praising a military officer who had violated military instructions. I had then wondered how would such a person who lacked judgement and balance be able to make informed opinions and advice on electoral reforms. She gave me the impression then she was just anti establishment.

Indeed, then I knew that unless someone wises up the new chairperson of Bersih, that organization built up to such a high reputation by Ambiga Sreenevasan would soon lose its perspectives on what its role actually is.

More than ever, for Bersih to seek to reform the current electoral system in Malaysia to ensure free, clean and fair elections, it must not, nay, NEVER ever encourage the military to get silly ideas of going political - keep those soldiers back in the barracks. Don't believe me, ask Yingluck Shinawatra.

Okay, you may think all the above are just kaytee's prattle tattle, wakakaka, but let's take a look at an article posted in the renowned loyarburok website, where we would be able to read Why I Will Not Attend Bersih 4.

It was written by Abdul Haleem, a Bersih-rally veteran, telling us of Bersih's double standards in not taking a strong stand against PKR's nonsensical misuse of the election process in the Kajang Gate by-election (I call it the rancid Kajang Satay event), yea, not even a slap on their wrists with a coriander stalk wakakaka, and also of allowing a certain party wakakaka to hijack its Bersih 3.0 rally which then saw civil disruption. The article said:

On both previous rallies — though it was organized by Bersih — on the actual day, it was hijacked by the political parties.

On Bersih 3, all hell broke loose when clowns from PKR got hold of the mic and started the fiery speeches which were very provocative.

The cops were no angels too. During Bersih 3, the moment this particular political figure started his provocative speech, me and my friends got up and left the scene for some chilled drinks. By the time we finished the first drink the whole area turned into a war zone.

We don’t need to be reminded of police brutality during Bersih 3. I surely don’t want to see innocent young ones beaten up for taking part on a democratic process. I don’t think this time around is going to be different. The Home Minister is also the DPM since yesterday and the Kebab still going mad for all the wrong reasons.

Yes, it was the story of Tonto sending up naughty smoke signals, wakakaka. On 02 May 2012 Dina Zaman wrote in The (now non-existent) Malaysian Insider’s The Bersih that wasn’t as follows:

While we can understand (though NOT support) the naughty antics of Anwar and Azmin for their vile exploitations/hijacking of Bersih 3.0, we cannot understand why Maria Chin Abdullah has turned Bersih into a very partisan anti establishment NGO, when Bersih is not that originally. I would have liked to play Sigmund Freud to her personality and psyche.

She has effectively destroyed the non-aligned credibility of Bersih 2.0 and in turn dealt a severe near-fatal blow to any prospects for electoral reforms in Malaysia.

Maria Chin Abdullah is to non-aligned initiated electoral reforms what Mahathir is to the near-fatal enervation of Malaysia's public institutions including and especially the watchdogs, arbitration units and law enforcement agencies (judiciary, police, civil servants, senate, etc).

Islamic laws in Malaysiais only for Muslims - true?

Malay Mail Online reported that Muhsin Abdul Latheef, the Penang secretary of Persatuan Mukabuku (Malay rights NGO), has demanded the popular Zumba dance be banned from being performed in public places in Penang, pointing out that the sport has been prohibited by a fatwa council.

And which fatwa council was that?

The Sabah Fatwa Council!

And he wants Penangites to obey that Sabah fatwa???

MM Online reported Muhsin also criticised the Penang state government for endorsing an upcoming Merdeka Day “Let’s Zumba Carnival”, which will be held on National day at Sunway Tunas Bayan Baru.

We have already witnessed the moronic rules in KB where even ordinary posters advertising watches have been deemed as haram because the models in the posters exposed their arms/hands to display the advertised watches. Shops which fail to remove such posters will not have their business licence renewed.

We have heard of hair dressing salons being warned on displaying posters showing women with luscious tresses because their aurat have been exposed. or face loss of licence.

The above KB interpretations of Islamic laws are recent and do not include previous enforcements of separating men from women in queues at supermarkets check-outs, and prohibition of unisex hair dressing salons.

Those KB ulamas seem to have an obsessed gender-oriented fixation on hair dressing salons.

Maybe they are the only ones who get hard-ons when seeing lovely well groomed stresses?

But then we know it's all about threats, punishments and control, the old tri-factor of the clerics, the Theocratic 3 P's - prohibit, persecute & punish.

But why interfere with the lives of non-Muslims? We have been repetitively informed and assured that Islamic laws do not affect non-Muslims, yet in Kelantan and now daringly in Penang, the ulamas are intruding into non-Muslim domains. 

Please recognize that in some areas we have different values - for example, we love to eat bah-kut-teh and yamseng. And Chinese men also love to view beautiful cleavages while Chinese women love to display theirs.

It's a win-win situation - we men like to see, the women love to show off - no one gets raped, no Chinese official let alone an ulama is allowed to interfere. We uphold the John Keats' poetic philosophy that 'A thing of beauty is a joy forever'.

But in Malaysia the ulama must somehow get into their bullying act of warning, prohibiting, persecuting and punishing - think poor Nik Raina, think Selena Gomez, think wrist watches and hair dressing posters, think unisex hair dressing salons, now it's to be Zumba.

They think that's their bread and butter, or they'd be out of a well-paid job.

And we non-Muslims are also paying for their salaries through our taxes.

Malaysiakini - Wan Azizah expresses surprise on claim PKR asked for seats from DAP

Huh? 

PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today expressed surprise when asked to comment on a claim that PKR had asked for 'one or two seats' from the DAP in Penang.

With a surprised look on her face, Wan Azizah however did not make any comment when asked on the particular question.

After being bombarded further, the opposition leader finally said that the issue in relation to the snap polls in Penang had been concluded after the state’s chief minister announced that DAP has decided to abandon plans to hold one in the state.

Obviously the avaricious nasty slave trading (2 aces for 5 to be sold down the river, wakakaka) was all done by you-know-who. She as the party president has been treated like a mushroom, kept in the dark and fed with bullshit.
