PAS lawmaker wants Lee Kim Yew to be stripped off citizenship for urging M’sian Chinese to prioritise China

PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has deemed as “unacceptable” the statement by a tycoon “Tan Sri” who called on his Chinese compatriots to accord priority to China.

Although the Pasir Mas MP did not name the said “Tan Sri”, it was obvious that he was referring to Country Heights Holdings Bhd founder Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew who over the weekend urged Malaysian Chinese political parties to prioritise the interests of China and the global Chinese population above internal political agendas.

Lee’s message is in conjunction with the 100th death anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-sen.

Open Letter: Our Existence is for the Future Generation

Dear Fellow Malaysians,

The advancement of technology, the acceleration of globalization, and environmental shifts present our society with unprecedented opportunities and pressures. “Several (political) parties were quoted, the names of the parties in this house and I’m sure of course my friends among the MPs wouldn’t agree with such view,” Fadhli said when debating on the Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday (Oct 16).

“Nevertheless, this proves that there are certain efforts to undermine loyalty to Malaysia.”

Citing Lee’s open letter to the media which was published by The Rakyat Post, Fadhli was aghast at the claim that the ideology of Dr Sun Yat Se which he described as “a founder of communism” is still relevant and should be prioritised.

Editor’s note: Sun Yat-sen was never the founder of Communism (it was Karl Marx) nor leader of the Chinese Communist Party (it was Mao Zedong) but merely hailed as “Forerunner of the Chinese Revolution” during his lifetime (1866-1925).

“I read: Lee argued that Dr Sun Yat-sen’s teachings remain deeply relevant today and must guide political discourse among the Chinese communities, both in Malaysia and worldwide.

“This is an unacceptable matter. But this proves that sometimes some of us don’t appreciate nor respect the privilege of being a Malaysian citizen.”

Fadhli stressed that such individuals should be deemed ss not deserving to be granted citizenship, hence should have their citizenship stripped.

“Therefore, I call that the time has come for the enactment of the Citizenship Act as a specific law for us to discuss the issue of granting citizenship and also how to deprive errant citizens of their rights,” added the PAS lawmaker. – Oct 17, 2024
