KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — A survey conducted by the Endeavor-MGC Research Institute (EMGC) has found that 62 per cent of respondents from marginal state seat made of all races and 52 per cent from marginal Malay seats will vote for Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the coming state election on August 12.

The EMGC in its survey found that the voter trend for Selangor will not differ from the 15th general election (GE15) that took place last November.

The total percentage was the same when the 1,068 respondents were asked about the party they had voted for in GE15.

Based on the study conducted in July, only 22 per cent of voters of all races and 31 per cent of Malay voters said they would vote for Perikatan Nasional (PN).

However compared to GE15, the PN bloc may see an additional one per cent rise in support from the marginal state seat respondents.

A similar trend is noticeable as well for Barisan Nasional (BN) whereby 11 per cent of respondents in marginal seats of all races and 10 per cent of respondents in marginal Malay seats said they would vote for that party.

It is a one per cent increase for votes from various races but a one per cent drop for Malay votes only to BN in GE15.

The survey showed that the voting pattern for PH, PN and BN did not experience significant changes after GE15.

  1. There are many marginal seats where these 4 out of 10 swing voters are sufficient for PN to win the seats.
It may or may not be sufficient to topple the PH State Government, but likely to give them a big fright.... which is exactly what is needed to shake them
