Wee Ka Siong says ‘NO’ to Sanusi’s offer to join opposition

Wee Ka Siong says ‘NO’ to Sanusi’s offer to join opposition

MCA president Wee Ka Siong did not mince his words in rejecting the offer by Perikatan Nasional election director Sanusi Nor.

Sanusi Nor’s suggestion for MCA to leave Barisan Nasional was promptly turned down by Wee Ka Siong.

PETALING JAYA: MCA has shut the door on joining Perikatan Nasional following an offer by the opposition coalition’s election director Sanusi Nor earlier today.

In a one-word reply on Facebook, MCA president Wee Ka Siong simply wrote “NO” after sharing a report on the offer.

Sanusi had suggested for both MCA and MIC – the two Barisan Nasional components who have since decided to skip the state elections – to join PN.

He said PN was prepared to offer the two parties mixed seats in the coming polls, claiming that MCA and MIC had decided to give the elections a miss for being unfairly treated.

Wee’s post’s received a thumbs up from the party’s vice-president Ti Lian Ker who had earlier today explained that MCA was sitting out the polls to avoid being dragged into disputes “that weaponise racial and religious sentiments”.

Meanwhile, MCA secretary-general Chong Win Soon said there was never any talk of quitting the BN.

“It’s a non-issue,” he said when contacted.

On Wednesday, MCA and MIC announced that they would not be contesting the elections in the six states and will instead focus on strengthening themselves to face the next general election (GE16).

  1. Wee Wee already has 1 foot and more than half his mind with PH.
BN with UMNO linked to PH is a very uncomfortable place for him.

    He SHOULD Jump.
