Tun M seen at LIMA with PH ministers sparks fire from netizens





FORMER premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is seen accompanied by Pakatan Harapan (PH) ministers in a photo published on Twitter while he visited the LIMA in Langkawi.


This has set Twitter on fire with netizens battling over whether it is a good thing for PH or a sign the unity government is in a shaky position.

Dr Mahathir has become the most virulent critic of the government run by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.


After rejecting the chance for Anwar to take over the PH government in February 2020, Dr Mahathir resigned without consultation from his political allies in the government.

This caused the collapse of the government and Dr Mahathir lost his post as prime minister to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who then formed the infamous backdoor government.

The former Langkawi MP has since been accused of betrayal by PH supporters and leaders. He denied all fault, saying he lost the majority and had to resign. However, PKR in particular saw his resignation as an attempt to prevent Anwar from becoming PM.

Now that the Tambun MP is the PM, Dr Mahathir has written many notes and given many statements to the media attacking Anwar.

Moreover, the photo of Dr Mahathir with Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan has sparked a riot online.

The original poster of the photo going by the@ExHeisenberg wrote:

“The closer they are to the state elections, the more desperate they become. You want to make peace with PAS, how many times do you want to meet Hadi? And now, you’re treating Dr M well. Seems like Pakatan Harapan are panicking. Maybe you have already received a (negative) report from the agency, right?”

By agency, the user is referring to the informants or special branch that is known to collect information on the political mood in the country for the government.

In reply to the original poster, @faisal_mn_ said:

“Give credit where it’s due. Anwar also praises Dr Mahathir for Proton. Proceed to allow Dr Mahathir recognition through LIMA. Anwar unlike Dr Mahathir, full of revenge and evil intentions. What a deceitful liar Mahathir is.”
