PETALING JAYA: A top Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) official has sidestepped queries on a purported circular claiming that each of its board members received a RM10,000 bonus.

Declining to confirm the authenticity of the circular, AKSB senior manager Nazmi Ghazali Azmi instead said the sharing of confidential documents was an offence, Harian Metro reported.

“Sharing confidential documents is an offence under the Official Secrets Act. I request for the document to be deleted,” he was quoted as saying.

A copy of the purported circular on the bonus for AKSB staff went viral yesterday. According to the circular, AKSB’s directors would receive a RM10,000 bonus while the staff would receive RM200 each.

Earlier, Kelantan PKR council member Dr Rosli Allani Abdul Kadir reportedly said the state government must explain the rationale for the bonus and whether it commensurated with the water company’s performance.

Rosli said if the circular was genuine, it meant that the state had not taken any steps to improve AKSB’s services.

The supply of clean water continues to be a problem in Kelantan, with the state government citing a lack of federal allocations as the main reason for its water woes.

Natural resources, environment and climate change minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, however, said the main issue was alleged mismanagement in AKSB.

Comment: everything that needs to be hidden will be under the OSA; just like the highway tolls contracts.

PH should not let the matter rest regardless of the threat.

  2. Very common for Kelantan homes to have a large water tank for reserve water.
A result of frequent water supply interruptions
