Some Highlights of Nomination Day - [“How long already reformasi?”]

theVibes.com:

8.49am – In GOMBAK, former colleagues Amirudin and Azmin share a friendly handshake as both men meet at the nomination centre.

BN candidate Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin is with them as they make their way in to file their nomination papers.

9.15am – In GOMBAK, an emotional Diva AA announces his withdrawal from the contest.

Speaking briefly to the media, the popular celebrity said he received a calling from his late mother through a dream not to contest in the election and will now back PH in the coming election.

Azwan is the sibling of Gombak incumbent Azmin.

8.46am – In BENTONG, independent candidate Wong Tack arrives at the nomination centre, clad in a light green shirt. He is seen raising his fist and chanting “power, power” while walking towards his designated tent.

Wong is accompanied by about six supporters wearing wide-brimmed farmers hats, and tells The Vibes that he is running “under the people’s ticket representing the rakyat”, stressing that he is “not challenging anyone”.

“Our interest is in the people, not the other candidates. The people in Bentong know the hard work we have done here,” he said.

“We have no campaign, strategy, or scheme. There is nothing to be scared of, let the people decide.”

Wong is the incumbent Bentong MP and is running as an independent candidate after being dropped by DAP for Syefura.

8.48am – In BENTONG, moments after Wong’s arrival, DAP’s Young Syefura and other state seat candidates from the party make their appearance.

Dressed in a red baju kurung and off-white shawl, Young Syefura is accompanied by about 20 supporters. For the time being, the PH camp has the largest crowd, including the party mascot – a mouse-deer.

Despite the gloomy weather, no one appears deterred by the overcast skies.

8.43am – In BATU, the seat’s incumbent P. Prabakaran arrives at the nomination centre, surrounded by over 50 supporters chanting “reformasi”.

As the group makes its way, GI’s candidate Siti Kassim sarcastically comments: “How long already reformasi?”

Viva la cheongsum & Siti 😁😂😃😅😆

  1. Reformasi is a journey, not a destination. Malaysia has been under BN UMNO control for all except 3 of its 65 years., even then 2 of those years was with UMNO Batu mentality and 1 year Backdoor.
Siti Kasim does not understand the reform agenda.
